There is no such provision for direct admission at IIIT Una. IIIT Una being a Centrally Funded Technical Institute just like all other IIIT’s across India follow the guidelines established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. IIIT Una courses are entirely entrance exam based. For admission to the IIIT Una flagship BTech programme, candidates must have valid ranks in JEE-Main based on which they can apply for the counselling process through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). After the completion of counselling process, candidates will be required to report to admission cell at IIIT Una to complete the remaining formalities of document verification and fee payment for final seat allotment.

According the cutoff list released by IIIT Una for admission to its flagship BTech programme the closing rank for BTech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) in the year 2021, 2022 & 2023 was 41419, 28324 & 30243 respectively. This clearly shows that the closing rank for the CSE branch at IIIT Una increased excessively in the year 2022 with respect to the year 2021 but it couldn’t maintain that growth for very long and crashed down to 30243 in the current year 2023 which makes the lowers the difficulty level for those who are willing to enrol in BTech in CSE at IIIT Una. Also, the same trend is followed by the Information Technology branch whose closing rank in the years 2021 & 2022 was 48004 & 31492, respectively but it also slumped down to 37091 in the current year 2023. In addition to this, BTech in Electronics & Communication was no different as it also followed the graph of the former two BTech branches.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech programme at IIIT Una must fulfil the following requirements:The candidate should have done BTech in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.Also, candidates should have valid GATE scores based on which they will be selected for further admission process. IIIT Una is a public private college which was established in 2014. The college was set up by the collaboration of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, HP Power Corporation Limited, the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, and HP Transmission Corporation Limited. Being the public private college, the fee for various courses is not very high. If students find the fee a little high, they can apply for scholarships provided by the college. Some of the scholarships provided by the college are Top Class Scholarships that are offered to SC Students and others.
