IIM Amritsar admission is decided on entrance basis for all courses. There is one UG and several PG and doctoral level courses offered including BSc, MBA, EMBA, MSc, PhD and PDF. IIM Amritsar application process can be completed in online mode after candidates receive their entrance exam scores. Out of all aforementioned courses, MBA is the flagship IIM Amritsar course.

IIM Amritsar admission is decided on entrance basis and candidates can begin applying as soon as they receive their exam scores. Accepted entrance exams at IIM Amritsar include CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, JRF (UGC/CSIR). However, there are some in-hourse IIM Amritsar entrance exams which are conducted for admission to certain courses in the absence of a valid score from aforementioned exams.

STEP 1: Registration for Entrance Exam
First step of admission process for any IIM Amritsar course is registering for the accepted exam. Every accepted entrance exam has a portal of its own where candidates can register to appear in them. For entrance exams conducted by IIM Amritsar itself, candidates can register through its website at the time of application process for chosen course.
STEP 2: IIM Amritsar Application Process
After candidates receive their entrance exam result, they can begin applying for their preferred course. Application process for IIM Amritsar admission follows a similar process for all courses. Follow below mentioned steps to apply for your preferredcourse:

- Scroll down on home page and find your preferred course.
- Click on "Apply for course" and fill registeration form.
- Login on admission microsite and fill admission form.

- Pay IIM Amritsar application fees of INR 2,600.
STEP 3: Selection Rounds
Once candidates submit their admission letters, IIM Amritsar begins selection process. First, an IIM Amritsar cutoff is announced and then candidates who had scored above it are evaluated based on factors such as last qualifying exam performance, diversity and work experience. Candidates who make it through this shortlisting process are caled for a personal interview round following which, final admission decision is rendered. Chosen candidates will be issued provisional admission certificate.
STEP 4: Confirmation of Admission
After provisional admission letter is issued to a candidate, they need to pay acceptance fees for confirmation of their admission. This fees might be first installment of IIM Amritsar fees. Once this fees is paid, document verification is conducted following which, admission process comes to an end.
IIM Amritsar Fee Refund Policy
In instances where a student chooses to cancel their admission from IIM Amritsar after paying acceptance fees, they are eligible to receive refunds under IIM Amritsar's refund policy. This policy is very similar to AICTE norms which provide the following refund rules:
- Withdrawals before the first day of the registration date will receive a refund of the entire Term-1 fee or acceptance fee, with a deduction of ₹1,000 (Rupees One Thousand only) as a processing fee.
- For withdrawals on or after the first day of the registration date, the Term-1 Fee will be forfeited if the seat remains vacant, and only the caution deposit and mess fee (on a pro- rata basis) will be refunded. If seats are filled, the refund will be processed after deducting ₹1,000 as the processing fee, and the remaining amount will be transferred to the candidate’s bank account.
- No refund of the Term 1 fee shall be admissible after the commencement of Term 1 classes, irrespective of whether the seat remains vacant.
These refund rules are applicable for IIM Amritsar fees for MBA course.

IIM Amritsar Scholarships 2027
IIM Amritsar scholarships include merit-based scholarships for students within top performers of yearly exams. Chosen candidates are offered full waivers of tutiion fees for that one year's fees. Candidates willing to pursue executive MBA programme at IIM Amritsar must have a valid CAT/ GMAT score (last two years), for candidates who haven’t appeared in CAT or GMAT must take the entrance test conducted by IIM Amritsar and three year of work experience.
