IIM Jammu PhD Eligibility & Highlights 2023
IIM Jammu offers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in both full-time and part-time modes. The institute will decide the total number of candidates for the PhD programme based on the requirements. The minimum duration of the programme is three years. Admission to the programme is entrance exam-based.
IIM Jammu PhD Admission 2023: Eligibility and Selection
Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme offered at IIM Jammu must meet the following eligibility:
- Eligibility: Master's & Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate OR Professional qualification (CA, ICWA, CS) or BTech/BE with at least 50% aggregate OR Integrated Master’s degree programme in any discipline with 60% aggregate
- Age: Not more than 40 years as on June 1, 2022
- Selection: Entrance Exam* (CAT/ GRE/ GMAT/ UGC JRF/ CSIR JRF or IIMJ-Research Admission Test (IIMJ-RAT)*) score + Personal Interview + Work Experience & Academic Qualification
*NOTE: The institute conducts IIMJ-RAT for part-time PhD admissions only.

Candidate seeking admission to IIM Jammu PhD programme must meet the eligibility criteria and IIM Jammu admission criteria. The selection process of IIM Jammu for PhD is mentioned below:
- Candidates have to appear for CAT or GATE, GRE, GMAT, or NET/JRF (UGC/CSIR) examination. Scores of these exams taken during the last three years are considered valid for admission to PhD. Candidate who have a Master's degree from IIM's with a minimum of 6 CGPA, is exempted from the test score and can apply directly.
- Aspirants are then shortlisted for the personal interview round on the basis of their performance in academics and competitive exam
- A final merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate's performance in the Personal Interview.
- The candidates who recieved the admission offer must pay the offer acceptance fee of INR 36,000 within the stipulated time.
IIM Jammu considers the scores of national-level entrance exams like CAT, UGC JRF, CSIR JRF, GRE, and GMAT for admission to the three-year PhD programme in Management (both full-time and part-time). Apart from this, the institute also conducts the IIMJ-Research Admission Test (IIMJ-RAT) for admission to the part-time PhD programme.
The mode of application for PhD at IIM Jammu is online. Candidates can visit the official website of the institute and submit a duly filled application form along with required documents and an application fee of INR 1,000.
