To begin the IIM Sambalpur MBA admission, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50%. The admission process of MBA course is based on multiple parameters such as CAT score, prior academic qualifications and performance, relevant work experience, and performance in the personal interview. Step 1: IIM Sambalpur MBA Application Process 2026
Aspirants have to complete CAT registration for MBA. The application fees for CAT is INR 2,700 (INR 1,350 for SC, ST, PwD). Check below the steps to apply for MBA via CAT:
- Visit iimcat.ac.in website
- Click on 'CAT 2026 New Register' tab under the 'New Candidate Registration' tab
- Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number and nationality
- Click on the 'Generate OTP' tab
- On successful registration, an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number and email ID
- Verify CAT 2026 registration with the OTP
- Fill out the CAT application form with all the required details
- Upload the required documents
- Pay the application fee of INR 2,700 (General, EWS and NC-OBC) and INR 1,350 (SC, ST and PwD)
- Submit the form and take a printout
Step 2: MBA Selection Process:
The selection in stage-1 is based on CAT scores for MBA. The minimum CAT qualifying percentile (overall) is 90 for General category for MBA and 85 for MBA in BA. Aspirants are shortlisted for PI round based on their CAT score and qualifying cutoff. Selected students get an email with link to IIM Sambalpur application portal.
Students have to complete the form and update information. A pre-PI score out of 80 is released based on CAT score, Class 10, Class 12 and graduation scores, work experience and STEM academic background for MBA. The pre-PI score for MBA in BA is out of 75. All shortlisted aspirants have to attend the PI round.

Step 3: IIM Sambalpur MBA Cutoff
The institute releases two cutoffs-qualifying and final. Students need to check the qualifying cutoff after CAT to be shortlisted for other rounds.
