IIT Dhanbad accepts national-level entrance exams like GATE/ UGC NET for providing admission to PhD course. Candidates shortlisted based on the entrance exam score are further called for a personal interview round. Besides, candidates need to pass UG degree with a minimum of 70% aggregate or 7.0 CGPA or Postgraduate with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA in Engineering / Science or any allied area for PhD admission. After selection, aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification. 

Candidates must apply for PhD on the official website of IIT Dhanbad. Aspirants must pay an application fees of INR 2,000 for PhD. Candidates can pay the fees via any of the online payment modes. Aspirants must keep the fee receipt with them for future references.

To get admission to IIT Dhanbad, students must secure a rank as per the cutoff list and according to the category they belong to to avail admission at this institiute. IIT Dhandbad JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 for the General AI category candidates was released for all rounds and courses.
