The GATE 2025 registration process is open for admission to the MTech course, and the last registration date with late fee is Oct 7, 2024. Further, the GATE 2025 exam will be conducted on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.

The IIT JAM 2025 online registration process for admission to the MSc course is open now, and the last date to apply is Oct 11, 2024. The IIT JAM 2025 exam is scheduled for Feb 2, 2025.

A glimpse into the life at IIT Dhanbad.

Placements: Approximately all the students who sit for placements get placed with an average of 85% companies like Microsoft and Standard Chartered, Walmart hire for roles like SDE, and companies like Reliance, Chevron, and GAIL hire for roles related to core industry. Many consulting companies also offer packages like 40 LPA offers for SDE roles, with the average package being around 15 LPA and the lowest being around 6-7 LPA.

Infrastructure: The hostel here has a very special naming sequence based on precious stones. Hostels provide a home far away from home with countless memories. The food is of decent quality, with canteens in each hostel of brands like Amul and Nescafe, and the entire campus is free Wi-Fi equipped.

Faculty: The curriculum is roughly the same as every IIT with qualified faculty members. Students generally achieve decent grades without any difficulties. One advise is not to compare your grade and marks with other colleges, as every college has different criteria for marking and grading.

Review of IIT ISM Dhanbad.

Placements: The placement percentage in Mechanical Engineering is good, with around 70 percent of students getting placed. The highest package is around 50 LPA, and the lowest package is around 6 LPA. The average package is around 13 LPA, and the median is 9 LPA. Placements are higher in non-core jobs than in core jobs.

Infrastructure: The hostels are good and spacious, although the first-year hostel rooms are a bit small. The hostels are fully equipped with Wi-Fi. The library here is Asia's second-largest library in a technical university. It is fully air-conditioned and also equipped with Wi-Fi. The campus is large, covering an area of around 350 acres.

Faculty: The course offered by the Mechanical Engineering department is good, and the professors are helpful. There is an attendance criterion of 75%. The teaching is also good, and the library, labs, and classrooms are very well-equipped, with classrooms featuring digital boards and projectors.

Really Good Facilities in Hostel.

Placements: The placement opportunities at IIT are exceptional, with students securing positions in some of the world's leading companies. Around 80% of students successfully find placements, while the remaining 20% explore opportunities in startups and other ventures. In 2020, the highest package offered was INR 25 lacs, while the lowest package stood at 12 lacs. Renowned companies actively participate in the hiring process at IIT.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this IIT is exceptional, boasting a sprawling 1200-acre campus. Each department has its own dedicated building, all of which are impressive in their own right. The hostel provides top-notch facilities, and the variety of food available in the mess and canteen is excellent.

Faculty: Teachers are truly remarkable individuals. Although I may not be aware of their qualifications, their teaching techniques are highly commendable. They have the ability to simplify complex questions and provide clear explanations. This course is designed to prepare students for the industry, making it highly relevant. If we put in the effort to study diligently, we can overcome the challenges posed by semester exams.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Review?

Placements: Around 75% of the students were placed in Mechanical Engineering. The highest package offered was 49 LPA, the lowest was 6 LPA, and the average was 13 LPA. Most students prefer non-core jobs over core jobs, so the top recruiters are non-core companies.

Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is not that great but works fine in the hostel rooms. The labs are excellent, with all the experimental setups present and operational. Classrooms are spacious and can accommodate around 150 students easily. The library is one of the best buildings on campus, with a huge collection of books containing valuable information.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Even after class, students can go to their departmental office to clear doubts and learn more deeply about any subject if interested. The course curriculum is carefully planned to train us into great mechanical engineers.

Other: I have been interested in Mechanical Engineering from the beginning, and what could be better than pursuing it at an IIT? The events and fests are held every year with great preparations. In October, we have our first tech fest, Concetto, which lasts for three days and features very interesting and vibrant events. The campus is well designed, with all daily necessities available within the campus.

Petroleum department is very good here.

Placements: I joined this college (IITISM Dhanbad) in 2024 in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Last year, in 23, about 80% students were placed. The highest package is 46 LPA and the lowest is 7 LPA in Electronics department. Top recruiting companies are Texas instruments, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Reliance JIO, Goldman Sachs, etc. Many students got internships in Google, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, sprinkler, etc. About 60% students get internships. Many students get placed in the technical field like software development, application development, and web development, and also in the core field like analog circuit design.

Infrastructure: Now this college has tag of IIT so its infrastructure is very good. Fully Wi-Fi campus but some network issue are there due to its location. The library is fully Wi-Fi enabled and air-conditioned; you can study there from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Hostel quality is good. Food quality in mess is also good. There are facilities for every sports like football, swimming, cricket, basketball, etc.

Faculty: Here, all professors are well qualified and well experienced. The electronics department is somehow a difficult branch and hectic. So you don't have so much time for extracurricular activities. Semester examinations are also hard to some extent, but you are coming after clearing JEE Advanced, so you can pass easily.

Other: In IIT (ISM), Dhanbad fests like Concetto, Khanan, and Srijan take place. In IIT, students come from almost all states of India, so you can see diversity here, and all cultural fests are celebrated on this campus.
