IIT Dhanbad accepts national-level entrance exams like GATE/ UGC NET for providing admission to PhD course. Candidates shortlisted based on the entrance exam score are further called for a personal interview round. Besides, candidates need to pass UG degree with a minimum of 70% aggregate or 7.0 CGPA or Postgraduate with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA in Engineering / Science or any allied area for PhD admission. After selection, aspirants need to come for counselling and document verification.

To get admission to IIT Dhanbad, student must attain the rank as per the cutoff list, and as per the category they belong to. IIT Dhandbad JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 for the General AI category candidates has been released for the third round. As per the cutoff list for the General AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 3348 and 16143. Therefore, student seeking admission to the college must have a JEE Advanced rank of below 16143 or below. 

To get CSE at IIT Dhanbad, candidate must have a valid rank in JEE Advanced as per the respective category. The cutoff was released for different categories belonging to the All India quota. As per the cutoff released for the General AI category candidates, the last round closing rank for CSE was 159.
