It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Students should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all conditions of eligibility. BTech course is offered in five specialisations at IIT Palakkad: Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Data Science Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Data Science is the new addition to the IIT Palakkad B.Tech programme which was introduced in 2022. The curriculum includes core courses that cover topics such as mathematics, Probability and Statistics computational thinking, data management, modelling and assessment, and ethics, providing a strong foundation in these subjects.

Yes, IIT Palakkad offers a two-year MTech programme in six specialisations. These specialisations are Geotechnical Engineering and Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, Data Science, Power Electronics and Power Systems and System-on-Chip Design.
