Q:   What is the ideal time to start the JEE Advanced preparation?
A:

The ideal time to start preparing for JEE Advanced depends on your current academic level and the amount of time you can dedicate to preparation. However, the general recommendation is to start seriously preparing for JEE Advanced by Class 11, or at least a year before the exam.

Start Preparing for JEE Advanced in Class 11: This is the best time to begin building the necessary foundation for JEE Advanced. The JEE Advanced syllabus overlaps significantly with the Class 11 curriculum (in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), so if you start early, you can grasp the concepts and develop problem-solving skills gradually. Why Class 11 is Ideal:

  1. You'll have more time to cover the syllabus in-depth.
  2. It gives you the opportunity to focus on fundamentals, which are key to solving complex Advanced-level problems.
  3. It allows you to gradually develop effective study habits.
  4. You can take advantage of both Class 11 and Class 12 subjects when preparing.

As per the instructions by IIT Bombay, candidates must not wear the following items on the JEE Advanced 2025 exam day:

  • Charm/taweez
  • Items containing metals such as:
    • Rings
    • Bracelets
    • Earrings

    • Badges
    • Brooch
    • Clothes with big buttons

JEE Advanced 2025 Dress Code - What to Wear

  • Wear open footwear like chappals and sandals
  • Wear pants and shirts with fewer or no pockets
  • Girls must avoid dupattas. Wear simple Kurtis and jeans/plazos/leggings
  • Wear short-sleeved clothes

Q:   How to take boards and JEE Advanced preparations together?
A:

Preparing for both the Board Exams and JEE Advanced simultaneously can be challenging, but with careful planning, it is definitely achievable. Since both exams are crucial and require a significant amount of effort, balancing the preparation for both requires a strategic approach. Here are some tips on how to effectively manage the preparation for both:

  • The syllabus for JEE Advanced overlaps significantly with the Board Exams syllabus, particularly for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. This overlap means that much of your preparation for JEE will also help in your Board Exams. Focus on the common topics, but be mindful that JEE requires a deeper understanding and problem-solving approach, while the Boards might emphasize theory and application in a simpler context.
  • Create a study timetable where you allocate specific slots for JEE Advanced preparation and separate time for Board Exam preparation. Both should be balanced.
    • For JEE Advanced, focus on problem-solving, concept application, and deep understanding of subjects.
    • For Boards, focus more on theory, understanding basic concepts, and memorizing key formulas and definitions.
  • When the Board Exams approach, shift your focus slightly towards theory-based preparation and ensure you revise your class notes, previous years' papers, and important questions.
  • When JEE Advanced is closer, spend more time solving problems, taking mock tests, and focusing on topics that require deeper analysis and critical thinking.
  • Focus on mastering fundamentals since both exams require strong foundational knowledge. A clear understanding of basic concepts will make it easier for you to solve complex problems for JEE Advanced and answer theory-based questions for the Boards.
Q:   Which IIT will conduct JEE Advanced 2025, 2026, 2027?
A:

JEE Advanced exam is organized by one of the seven zonal IITs, namely IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati, on a round-robin rotation pattern. Following the pattern, it is expected that JEE Advanced 2025 will be condicted by IIT Kanpur, in 2026 IIT Roorkee will hold the exam and in 2027 IIT Delhi will be the organising institute.

JEE Advanced 2025 examination will be conducted only in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will consist of two question papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration. Both papers are compulsory. The exam will be held in English and Hindi. The total duration of the exam will be 6 hours. The marking schemes change each year. Negative marks may be awarded for incorrect answers to some of the questions. Details of the marking scheme will be provided in the “Instructions to Candidates” section at the time of examination. Each question paper will consist of three separate sections, viz., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
