IIM Mumbai MBA Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIM Mumbai MBA is a two-year postgraduate course, divided into four semesters and offered full-time. MBA at IIM Mumbai has been ranked at no. 6 under the 'Management' category by the NIRF Rankings. IIM Mumbai MBA courses are offered in two specialisations, Sustainability Management and Operations & Supply Chain Management. The minimum eligibility criteria required by the IIM Mumbai for admission to MBA courses is candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories].
IIM Mumbai MBA admission is completely based on the scores secured in the CAT entrance examination. Further, candidates appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIM Mumbai MBA fees include multiple components, such as tuition, application, and other one-time charges. The tuition fee for MBA courses at IIM Mumbai is INR 14 lakh. IIM Mumbai MBA admission dates 2025 for the batch 2025-27 have been released. The admission cycle for the flagship MBA courses of IIM-Mumbai starts in the month of August for the upcoming year's MBA admission batch. IIM Mumbai MBA admissions process starts with the release of the application form on the official website. The application window for MBA admission 2025 will be opened soon. However, the CAT exam 2024 will be conducted on 24 November 2024. Currently, the last date of application has not been released. Students are requested to visit the official website for the most the latest and upcoming admission schedule.
IIM Admission Criteria and Selection Process 2023 - The first step towards getting into the IIMs is taking the CAT exam. The next steps are Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Intervew (PI). The WAT and PI are the main selection criteria of IIM MBA admission. They are conducted after the CAT result announcement. Candidates who meet the CAT cut off, are shortlisted for WAT and PI. Final selection for IIM admission is based on candidate's overall profile - CAT score, academic score, work experience, category and WAT and PI score.
The eligibility for IIMs is the same as the CAT eligibility requirements. However, here are a few added points to be kept in mind.
- The minimum requirement is a graduate degree with 50% for general, EWS, and NC-OBC categories or 45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories.
- Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible
- Candidates must meet the minimum cutoffs to participate in the WAT/PI rounds and expect interview calls.
IIM Mumbai MBA in Operations and supply chain management offers a blend of core and elective subjects under the curriculum. Moreover, most of the core subjects are assigned a credit score of three. The names of the offered core subjects are as follows:

IIM Mumbai MBA Admission 2025: How to Apply?
IIM Mumbai MBA course admission is made based on students' performance in the CAT. Following is a guide for IIM Mumbai Admission:
Candidates seeking admission can register at https://iimmumbai.ac.in/ after the CAT registration process. Candidates can check out the application process for CAT from here: CAT registration. In general, while registering for CAT, candidates must apply for an MBA at IIM Mumbai by selecting the option available in the online registration form. The application fee for CAT (General/OBC category) is INR 2,400. There is an additional IIM Mumbai MBA application fee for general candidates INR 2000, for SC/ST/PwD INR 1000/-
1.1: Visit the website of IIM Mumbai at https://iimmumbai.ac.in/. On its homepage, click on ‘Programs’ A drop-down menu opens up.
1.2: Click on the desired programme and further click on ‘Application Process’ against the pop-up that appears against the selected course.
1.3: Read the given instructions carefully and click on ‘Admission Portal’. The application form opens up.
1.4: Fill out the application form carefully. Candidates applying for the Fellow programme need to additionally submit a 1,500-word research proposal.
1.5: Pay the application fee in online mode using payment gateway through debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
Shortlisting for IIM Mumbai Admission Test, Writing Skills Test and PI
After the announcement of CAT results, IIM Mumbai shortlists students based on their performance in CAT. Shortlisting is generally carried out in two stages.

Shortlisted students are then required to appear for a writing skills test and a PI.
Final Selection
After the rounds, IIM Mumbai makes admission offers to successful candidates. These offers are based on factors including CAT score, Writing Skill Test & PI performance, academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular achievements, work experience, etc.

IIM Mumbai provides various scholarship schemes based on merit and financial needs. Details of IIM Mumbai Scholarships are listed below:
- GATE-qualified candidates receive a Teaching Assistantship (currently INR 12400/ month) and contingency expenditure according to rules.
- Central Sector Scholarship is granted to SC/ST candidates based on the terms and conditions of the Indian government's scheme.
- Students with a total family income of less than INR 2.50 lakh in the previous financial year are eligible for a 30% tuition fee waiver when entering the postgraduate programme.

Earlier, there was no IIM in Mumbai. But now NITIE Mumbai has been renamed to IIM Mumbai. The institute has been ranked 7 under ‘Management’ category by the NIRF in 2023. IIM Mumbai offers financial assistance in the form of financial assistance to PhD scholarships. During the first and second years of the PhD, students get INR 37,000 per month. Additionally, during the third, fourth and fifth years of the programme students receive INR 42,000 per month as a stipend.

Stay in hostels is not mandatory in IIM Mumbai. It's depends on you if you don't want to take hostel, then you can live outside but I think in IIM Mumbai, for some courses like PGDIE, PGDIM hostels are compulsory.
