Yes, it is possible to join IISER Mohali - Indian Institute of Science Education & Research without JEE. The eligibility criteria for admission to the BS (four-year) degree program at IISER Mohali:
Candidates who have qualified Class XII (or equivalent) examination in science stream either in the year 2022 or 2023 can apply to the BS (four-year) degree program.
Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) exam.
Candidates seeking admission under the State and Central Boards (SCB) channel do not have to appear for IAT-2023.
The IISER Entrance Exam 2026 counselling dates will be announced by June. Last year, nine rounds of counselling were conducted between July and September 2025. This year the number of rounds is expected to be similar.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects) and secured at least mentioned aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for PwD candidates should be at least 65%. OR Candidates must have passed class 10+2 (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects) and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective 10+2(or equivalent) board examination. [Five Subjects: i) Physics, ii) Chemistry, iii) Mathematics, iv) A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered) and v) Any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks will be considered)] Other Mandatory Criteria: Candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Once IISER result is declared, a seat allotment list is declared containing roll numbers of candidates who are allocated seats in BS-MS programmes. Candidates can check the first round allotment list on the official website of the exam tentatively by the second week of July 2026. All candidates whose roll numbers appear in the first round allotment list need to log in to their application portal to download the offer letters.
IISER Mohali is slight hard to get as its admission and selection is based on various entrance exam. For Bsc admissions its JEE Main and JEE advanced which are to be considered. There is also one more college level entrance exam which is IISER entrance exam to get throught this college. Geeting a good score in these entrance exams is a challenge and depends upon the rank you score. In Bsc the rank considered by the institute was around 2229.
