The candidates must have passed their 10+2 in science stream from a recognized board. The minimum aggregate marks required for admission to the BS-MS in Biological Sciences course at IISER Kolkata is 60% for GEN/OBC and OBC-NCL categories and 55% for SC/ST.

I do not have much data on this, But a few (4) of my seniors were placed in Dr. Reddy's lab with salaries around 9lpa.It being a Science institute, they have. A newly made placement cell. (because most of the students opt for higher education after the completion of their studies )Some students also go for government jobs.But as the institute has signed some MoU s with well established foreign institutes (with jku Austria, UDE in Germany, university of Pennsylvania in USA, RWTH Aachen in Germany to name a few)and the high standings in global rankings (placed 48th in young institutes contributing to quality research world-wide by nature, 2019)These factors contribute to a good enough background for a future PhD or MS in other countries. B.Sc in biological sciences is atop course in IISER Kolkata and has a better placement, having average package 7 LPA and higher package is approximately 14 to 15 LPA. 

The official placement report for BS-MS courses is not available yet. However, the overall NIRF report is available. As per that, the number of students placed during the year 2023 stood at 11. To apply for the five-year BS-MS Dual Degree programme at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata, candidates need to have passed Class 12 in any stream from a recognised board with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) along with JEE Advanced/ IISER Aptitude Test scores. The Round 1 closing rank for the BS-MS course stood at 403 for the General All India category student. So, considering the Round 1 and the Last Round closing rank for IISER Kolkata, candidates must secure a rank between 400 and 1805. Applicants must scored 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC and OBC-NCL categories and 55% for SC/ST/PWD in any recognised board. The required percentage is 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC/OBC-NCL and 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for SC/ST/PWD in class XII or equivalent exam.

General/ OBC-NCL/ EWS candidates need to pay INR 2,000 while SC/ ST/ PwD candidates have to pay INR 1,000 as the application fee for the five-year BS-MS Dual Degree programme at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata.

IISER Kolkata BS-MS fees is composed of various factors such as tuition fee, hostel fees, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc.  Candidates who wish to know the complete fee structure can visit the official website of the institute. The total tuition fees for BS-MS courses amount to INR 4.4 lakh. Moreover, the institute offers a 100% tuition fee waiver to students belonging to SC, ST, and PD classes.

IISER Kolkata OBC cutoff 2025 for admission to the BS + MS course across multiple specialisations was 891 under the AI quota. For the B.S. in Computational and Data Sciences + M.S. in Computational and Data Sciences specialisation, the first-round closing rank stood at 417. Admission to the University is both entrance and merit-based. IISER Kolkata offers five courses in the field of Research, Science, and Technology at UG, PG, and doctoral level, namely a five-year BS-MS Dual Degree programme, MS in Space Physics, Integrated PhD, PhD and Postdoctoral Research programme across seven departments and five centres of excellence. In March/April, application forms for all programmes offered at IISER Kolkata are made available to the students through an online application process. Students are admitted to the BS-MS Dual Degree programme through the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) via the IISER Aptitude Test, and JEE Advanced scores. On the other hand, IISER Kolkata conducts an interview round to shortlist candidates for various programmes (MS in Space Physics, I-PhD, and post-doctoral research). The spring semester begins in January and lasts until May, whereas the fall semester lasts from August to December.

IISER Kolkata cutoff 2024 was based on IISER Entrance exam. The cutoff was released for admission to BS specialisations. Among the General AI category candidates, the last round closing ranks for all the BE specialistions were 1801.
