As per the Government of India rules, candidates belonging to certain categories are offered seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. Below is category-wise seat reservation for BTech programme:

IIT Goa admission is a multi-step process that students need to follow to get into the institute. Starting with the application, students are required to go through the course-specific entrance exam, followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). Step 1: IIT Goa Application Process 2025
Students interested in getting into IIT Goa must submit the online application form for course-specific entrance exam or college depending on the course they wish to get into.

Step 2: IIT Goa University Selection Criteria & Release of Merit List
After the applications are submitted, students are required to go through the course-specific entrance exam, followed by other selection rounds (if applicable). Candidates must score equal or above IIT Goa cutoff in the accepted entrance exam for admission. After the selection rounds are over, they are required to go through the course-wise counselling process for final seat allotment. For PhD, merit lists are released on the official website (with the names of the shortlisted students) of the institute.

- The registration window for JEE Advanced 2025 is now open for admission to the BE/BTech courses, and the last date to register is May 2, 2025. After applying for JEE Main or GATE for admission to BTech or MTech, respectively, candidates are shortlisted for BTech based on JEE Main, JEE Advanced and for MTech based on GATE scores. Then, candidates are allotted seats in JoSAA Counselling for BTech. Admission to M.Tech is through GATE followed by COAP Counselling. Candidates need to complete a master's degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent degree with 60% aggregate or CPI 6/10 or equivalent.
