Institute of Management Studies MBA Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Institute of Management Studies MBA is offered under the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The institute mainly offered two regular management programmes: Master of Business Administration (MBA) and MBA in International Business. Both the courses are offered in multiple specialisations including, including Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Operations Management, Information Technology, etc. Institute of Management Studies-affiliated colleges also offer MBA programmes.
Institute of Management Studies admission to the MBA programme is completely entrance-based. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores have to participate in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) followed by counselling. For admission to the Institute of Management Studies MBA and MBA (IB), students will be admitted based on CAT scores conducted by IIM of the corresponding year, followed by the GD & PI round. The final merit list of selected candidates for Institute of Management Studies MBA admission is prepared based on the following criteria and weightage:
- Qualifying exam: 50% weightage
- Academic record: 20% weightage
- GDPI (conducted by FMS, Institute of Management Studies): 30% weightage

Institute of Management Studies MBA Admission 2025: How to Apply?
Institute of Management Studies, BHU MBA admission is subject to a valid score in the CAT score. The MBA admission procedure mainly includes the application process, exam, merit lists, counselling, seat allocation, and fee payment. Candidates must make sure to have a valid MBA eligibility criteria as per the Institute of Management Studies admission guidelines. Candidates can follow the below steps for admission:
Step 1: FMS IMS, BHU MBA Application Process 2025
FMS IMS, BHU admission 2025 to its MBA and MBA IB programme involves an online application process Candidates are required to appear for CAT and register at FMS IMS, BHU via a separate admission application form available at the institute normally during August-November every year. This application form could also be downloaded from the website (www.IMS, BHU.ac.in) or (www.fmsIMS, BHU.ac.in) according to the admission notification normally released in the last week of August every year. Step 1: Visit the University's official website, apply through University Admission Portal (www.IMS, BHUonline.in).
Step 2: Fill the application form with are required to enter aggregate obtained marks and maximum marks mentioned in the final semester mark-sheet on the space provided in the Application form (for X, XII & qualifying examination).
Step 3: Pay the application fee of INR 2000/- (INR1000/- for SC/ST) to be payable online as per guidelines provided on the Admission Portal

Step 2: Selection Criteria
Before beginning the IMS application process, candidates must appear for the CAT 2025 exam.
Step 3: Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GDPI)
Applicants shortlisted based on CAT score are called for GDPI, which is conducted at the institute. The schedule for GDPI is released by the admission committee. Moreover, candidates not appearing for the GD or PI on the scheduled date will be disqualified from the admission process.
Step 4: Admission Counselling
In the last step, candidates selected based on CAT score, academic record, and performance in GDPI are called for a counselling round. Candidates appearing for counselling must bring along the important documents (original). When provisional admission is offered to a candidate, the original documents will be detained by the institute and will be returned after the completion of admission formalities.

Yes, the Institute of Management Studies offers scholarships to students. BHU Management Alumni Association also known as BHUMAA offers BHUMAA merit scholarship awards to eligible students. The scholarship award consisted of a certificate along with a cash prize of INR 10,000.
