Applying for IISM requires passing the SMAT (Admission Test). Typically, an online version of this entrance exam will take place in June. The language of instruction for SMAT 2023 will be English. This year, on June 18, SMAT stage I was held.
On the IISM website, registration for SMAT is available. When the official exam date is announced, candidates can fill out the SMAT application form at any time and attend.
The International Institute of Sports Management's (IISM) official website is where applicants for admission to SMAT 2023 can be found. By completing an online application form, candidates can register for the Sports Management Admission Test (SMAT). Prior to applying for SMAT, candidates are advised to review the eligibility requirements.
After the form is completed, it must be scanned and sent to IISM. SMAT 2023 registrations are now closed, and SMAT 2024 will start in the middle of 2024. Note: Since the IISM SMAT exam is administered via online proctoring, students may take it whenever it is convenient for them to do so from home. It is not necessary for candidates who took the MAH-CET-MBA/MMS exam and scored in the 55 percentile for the OC or the 45 percentile for the Reserved category to appear in the SMAT; instead, they only need to submit the SMAT application form and pay the applicable fee. In order to be qualified for the IISM's undergraduate program, applicants must receive 50% in their Class 12.

BSM is a three-year full-time programme offered by IISM. It has two specialisations and admission to the same is based on a valid score obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the college. IISM admission 2023 is an online process. Interested students need to visit the official website of the college and apply for Sports Management Admission Test (SMAT)/ Sports Science Admission Test (SSAT) entrance exams conducted by IISM. questions. The complete admission process comprises the following two stages:
- Stage-1: For admission to the BSM/ BSS programmes, applicants need to appear for essay writing/ SOP/ Caselets. Further, students also need to qualify for SMAT/ SSAT, respectively.
- Stage-2: Candidates who qualify for Stage-1 will be called for Personal Interview (PI) rounds.
As per the total weightage of Stage 1 and Stage 2 performance of candidates, the college will select the students and issue the offer letter.
Those who are willing to get admission to BSS at IISM Mumbai, students are required to pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology of any State Board/ CBSE/ ISC or any other examination recognised as equivalent as per the minimum eligibility criteria.
For admission to MSS at IISM Mumbai, students need to have a UG degree with 50% aggregate in Life Sciences or Biological Sciences, MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and any allied paramedical fields, BPED and MPED or Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science BSS) from a recognised university. Students who belong to Maharashtra Domicile are required to get 45% aggregate in the same.
Yes, IISM offers admission to its UG and PG courses based on the scores of its in-house entrance exam. For admission to UG and PG courses in the Management stream, the college conducts Sports Management Admission Test (SMAT). Also, for admission to UG and PG courses in the stream of Science, the college conducts Sports Science Admission Test (SSAT).
IISM Mumbai offers a Post Graduate Program in Sports Management (PGPSM) course. Students can pursue this course for a duration of eleven-month. The curriculum of this course covers the key knowledge around the concepts of International Business, Strategic Management, Sports Facility & Event Management, Sports Financial, Sports Marketing, Sports Law, Sports Analytics, Grassroots, Public Relations, etc. During the commencement of this course, students get opportunities to attend Internship & Placement assistance, extensive research sessions, Guest sessions by industry stalwarts, etc. For admission to this course, students of the General category must attain 50% aggregate in the UG degree in any subject.
IISM Mumbai BSS admission is entrance-based. The college conducts its in-house entrance exam, i.e., Sports Science Admission Test (SSAT). Aspirants need to qualify for this exam with a valid score. Apart from this, students have to write an SOP explaining their academic field of interest, sports background, the reason for pursuing this course, etc., along with qualifying for the PI round for final admission.

IISM is better for a Bachelors in Sports Management due to its strong industry connections, better recognition in India, and a well-established alumni network. Ironwood is good for international exposure but has limited recognition. If you want a full-fledged degree program, IISM is a better choice.
