SMAT 2026 exam is being conducted phase wise. The first phase exam for 2026 batch was held on December 21, 2025 and the second phase exam was held on January 25, 2026. The next phase exam will be held on March 29 for which registration can be done until March 23, 2026.

Students who are interested in pursuing management degree from the International Institute of Sports Management (IISM), can fill the application form for UG and PG courses in Sports Management at the institute website. The SMAT exam for UG and PG admission is conducted every month and the registrations are also conducted monthly. Check the upcoming SMAT 2026 exam dates.

SMAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Minimum eligibility criteria for SMAT 2026 have been mentioned below:

  • Bachelor of Sports Management: Candidate must have completed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 40% in all subjects.
  • Bachelor of Sports Science: Candidate must have scored 40% in Class 12 (Science) or equivalent.
  • Master of Sports Management: Aspirants must have successfully completed his/ her graduation in any field with 40% in all subjects.
  • Master of Sports Science: Graduation with a minimum score of 40% in Life Science, MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, any allied paramedical fields, BPED and MPED degrees, or a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science.
  • Post Graduate Program in Sports Management: Graduation in any field with 40% in all subjects.

If you have not studied Maths in class 12, you need not worry about it. SMAT has very basic level of questions from Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and Mensuration. You can revise these topics to prepare for the exam and that'll be enough.

SMAT syllabus is not difficult. It includes regular aptitude related subjects like Quantitative Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability. These subjects are common to other entrance exams too.
