JMC is a place where you'll find home not just on campus but in people, too.
Placements: Our college has a placement cell. All the members of it work meticulously to get companies, prepare the members for interviews, and provide internships. Last year, companies like Deloitte, Accenture, etc., came for the interviews. Around 15 people got placement in companies last year. Highest package offered was around 23 LPA, and average package was around 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: JMC is known for its best infrastructure. Our college has two buildings. Both of them are well-maintained and fully furnished. Classrooms are spacious. Our library is also big with best Wi-Fi connectivity. One can get all kinds of books there. The quality isn't up to the mark at JMC's canteen, but the bhel puri stall at JMC is awesome. Medical facilities are available too. JMC has an open gym as well as a fully functional equipment gym. Sports rooms and facilities are also top-notch.
Faculty: Course does prepare you for the real world. Course is not very tough. Teachers try to give you hands-on experience with practical work too. Exams are not too difficult. If you have studied and understood the concepts well, you can ace the exam easily. If the answers are well written and include all important topics, then getting good marks is not difficult at all.

Jesus and Mary College is a green, inclusive hub for academic excellence and holistic growth.
Placements: My college has achieved a percentage of 85-90% in placement. The highest and average package offered by my college is 6 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies for my course were Deloitte, Ernst & Young, etc. 30% of students got internships in my course at Deloitte. Top roles offered in my course are HR-related roles, Consultant, and Analyst positions.
Infrastructure: The campus is beautiful, spacious, and well-constructed. The classrooms are very neat and clean and well-decorated. The benches in the classrooms are always set in a row. The lab rooms are innovative and designed to attract students to gain knowledge.
Faculty: The teachers are very friendly and helpful to students. They teach everything with patience and examples to make the concepts clear. This course is very curriculum-relevant. It makes the student ready for every task in life. The exams are not very difficult; they are very easy and short. Also, very little stress is involved. Enough time is given to complete the exam.
Other: I chose this course in JMC because I have an interest in psychology, and JMC offers the best to its students. It has the best professors who are experienced and helpful. I don't think there's anything that I would like to improve. Just one thing to add: the fest organizing team should invite big artists to the event so that the students get the chance to meet their favorite artists. Every event is very fun to attend. All the facilities at the events or fests are well managed by the team.

Somewhat satisfied with the faculty, and a good placement in 2024.
Placements: I spoke to some 3rd-year seniors, and about 10-11 of them have secured placements through various societies. For example, one senior got a package of 9 LPA from the placement cell and is the VP of a club. The highest package reported was 16 LPA, and the average package is around 5 LPA. Some companies that hired include Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Accenture, and Wipro. My sister also got a job through JMC five years ago; she did B.Com (Hons) and received a 4 LPA offer from KPMG. I don’t have more information on other details. Fields related to my interest include business analysis, actuarial science, and data analysis, and I studied Maths (Hons).
Infrastructure: The classrooms are decent; they lack air conditioning, but they are clean. There are three labs and some MPH rooms that are air-conditioned, making the labs a good facility. The library is quite nice, spanning three floors and filled with plenty of books to read. However, the washrooms are very dirty. The college does not provide hostels, and the canteen is average. The hygiene is acceptable, and while the food prices are quite cheap, the cleanliness does not meet standards. On a positive note, the medical room is quite good, and there are ample sports facilities, including a large football ground and two basketball courts.
Faculty: Some teachers are excellent and very helpful, while others are not as engaging. However, all of them are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good; all teachers complete the syllabus on time and conduct regular class tests. The curriculum may not be fully relevant, but some practical lessons include how to use Excel and various types of graphs. In the second semester, we are also learning how to use MATLAB. The exams can be challenging, particularly for the Mathematics (Hons) course, with a passing percentage structured around the semester-wise CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because the cutoff was low, and I wanted to attend Delhi University (either South or North Campus). Honestly, the course is quite difficult, but the only advantage is the high salary packages and career options available after graduation. Additionally, the washrooms are very dirty, and sometimes there is no water available. The course also requires us to take extra subjects, which can be overwhelming alongside Mathematics (Hons). On a positive note, the fests are enjoyable, and various events happen throughout the year. The crowd is quite good, and the campus itself is one of the highlights; the JMC campus is considered one of the best.

Limited placement support for B.A. program despite good academics.
Placements: Approximately 20-30% of B.A. program students (English/History electives) were placed through the college's placement cell, though this varied each year. Many students choose to pursue higher education, UPSC/civil services, journalism, or creative fields instead of taking an immediate job.
Infrastructure: JMC did not offer on-campus hostel facilities, outstation students arranged nearby PGs/hostels in Satya Niketan, Vasant Vihar, Moti Bagh, and Munirka. Three dedicated computer laboratories were available. It had one in the multi-purpose hall, with over 80 desktops and 88 laptops, ensuring a 1:1 student and computer ratio for practical sessions.
Faculty: JMC faculty members were mostly Ph.D. holders or NET-qualified. Many were involved in UGC-funded research projects, published in reputed journals, and were invited to national/international conferences. Exams were moderate to challenging, depending on the subject. The arts and commerce courses often focused on conceptual writing and in-depth understanding. Science and psychology had practical components with written exams. Regular internal assessment (tests, projects, presentations) helped students stay on track.
Other: I chose the B.A. program with English and History because I wanted a flexible combination that allowed me to explore both literature and historical analysis. JMC was known for its strong humanities departments, and this course offered a great balance between creativity and critical thinking. Montage was the annual cultural fest of Jesus and Mary College, and it was one of the most awaited and vibrant events in the DU calendar. Usually held in February or March, it brings together students from across Delhi University and other colleges for two days of celebration, creativity, and competition.

B.A. (Hons.) in Sociology - Batch of 2027
4.2
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
College is totally worth the hype, really good environment and faculty members, bad canteen though.
Placements: Usually, the ones with outstanding resumes are given placements. CGPA plays an important role in deciding whether you will be placed in a good company or not. It is best suitable to aim for 8 and above CGPA. You must try to get into as much internships as possible. In the second year, you get a chance to either choose the SEC subject or do an internship. In my course, sociology honors, we are provided with tons of internships, usually unpaid. However, one can also choose an internship for themselves and then get it confirmed from their teacher in charge.
Infrastructure: Indeed, the best DU campus with full of greenery and cleanliness. Students have access to Wi-Fi. Classrooms are quite spacious, there are no ACs. Library and the Thevenet Hall (auditorium ) are the only space for the students where ACs are available. PGs are usually available at a distance of 2 KM. There is a large basketball and football court. We have a gym area. JMC's major flaw is the canteen. The canteen is very small and congested. The best part of JMC is the bhelpuri, which again is located inside the college, and it is indeed better than the canteen.
Faculty: Sociology department faculty members of JMC are well-known at DU. In terms of teaching, there are phenomenal professors, all having their own ways of teaching. Though, it is obvious that not all professors can be perfect at teaching, even though they have high qualifications. Yet, sociology department is considered as one of the best and unproblematic departments of JMC. Semester 1 went quite smoothly, but there are some problems in semester 2 due to complete syllabus. Yet it was also managed in the last few days. Passing percentage for DU is 63% of all courses.
Other: Choosing sociology honours is purely based on my own interest. Before coming to the college, I did not know that sociology of JMC is appreciated this much. In preference, I considered LSR and then JMC, and I got in JMC. All over JMC is one of the best DU colleges, and I heard that its annual fest (Montage) is very famous. However, this time I am quite disappointed with the fest since no good artists could come, probably it is the fault of student's council and even the head teachers who are managing the fest.

Driving into the world of JMC.
Placements: 83% of students were placed successfully. The highest package being a literature major which was around 25-30,000. The average CTC was around 15-18000 and the lowest was Rs 10-15k. Around 72% of the students got internships. Many were taken as fellow bloggers, editors, etc.
Infrastructure: The college embodies a huge L Park, an amphitheater, a huge Multipurpose hall as well as two gyms that is one open gym area and another gym within the premises of the building. The canteen is huge along with another accompanying food caravan, one football ground and a basketball court.
Faculty: The faculty is extremely understanding and approachable. The English department is extremely helpful, inclusive, and accommodating. They provide assignments and notes, take CAs on time, and provide sufficient time to complete projects or assignments assigned.
Other: The course close is due to two reasons. Literature major students have a variety of courses to resort to from Law, Mass Communication, and Editing to foreign relations. The course material is informative, the faculty of English honours in JMC is one of the best and with the English department fest Literati, Diwali fest SPARSH it becomes all the more appealing.
