The teaching faculty and supporting staff are excellent.
Placements: The companies having MoUs with our institute include Tata Medical Centre, and also academic institutes like IIT Kharagpur, IIEST Shibpur etc. Relatively, all the students are given internships. The roles offered in the course include quality control, HPLC handling, wet lab technician, sequencing operator etc.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are equipped with all the essential features required for smart learning. The whole institute is enabled with high-speed Wi-Fi. Both the books and hard copies of any part of the course are available in the library. All kinds of medical first-line help is available.
Faculty: The faculty members are the best, for sure. They give everything needed to help every student to make the concepts clear for us. Most of them are doctorates from world-renowned universities, and all such people are accumulated under a single roof in this institute. The course is a very sharp edge course which definitely makes a student industry-ready.

I am satisfied with the course and faculty members.
Placements: There are 11 students from the current batch of the 2nd semester in medical biotechnology and bioinformatics. The course is very good. You can learn both biotechnology and bioinformatics courses. Biotechnology and bioinformatics have a good value in the biology and medical field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very beautiful and peaceful. We have classes on the 17th floor. Labs are very beautiful, and most of the required machines are available, like next-generation sequencing machines. The computer lab is very good. The viewpoint from the library is awesome. Wi-Fi has good speed. We have pure drinking water facilities, and there is a kitchen too. Washrooms are very clean. The whole campus is air-conditioned, and the classrooms are beautiful.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and understanding. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is great. They prepare us for industry, academics, research, etc. Overall, experience is very good in this university.
Other: I faced difficulty in choosing between biotechnology or bioinformatics, but here we got the opportunity to learn biotechnology and bioinformatics in M.Sc., so I have chosen this course.

Review of JIS Institute of Advanced Studies and Research Kolkata, JIS University.
Placements: Since I am a 1st-year M.Sc student, I have not been offered any salary package. However, I have confidence that after I complete my course, I will get a good job with a handsome salary because of the effectiveness of the course structure and the efforts put by teachers of our college.
Infrastructure: Since it is a new institution, it doesn't have its own campus. However, it doesn't affect the learning because the classrooms are systematically arranged. Laboratory facilities are extremely good with modern technology equipment. A good collection of books are available in the library. Wi-Fi facility is also really very good.
Faculty: All the teachers, including the staff members, are very helpful, supportive and friendly here. Teachers here are highly qualified and provide a good quality of teaching. The course structure here includes both industrial-based knowledge and deep knowledge for students who are interested in academics.
Other: I decided to pursue my M.Sc in medical biotechnology and bioinformatics because I want to do my research on disease-related topics. Hence this would be the best platform for me to fulfil my dreams.

Our college is my pride, and I am lucky to be a part of this institution.
Placements: I am a second-semester student in this institution. So, I am not placed in any companies yet. But, the faculty members keep track of students who are willing to continue with academics or jobs after completing this course. We can freely discuss all these issues with our faculty members, and they always give us suggestions.
Infrastructure: We have a library, well-equipped labs and classrooms. Wi-Fi facility is available for all the students. PGs are available close to our institution. We can also get food near our institution. A lot of food stalls and restaurants are available.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They are qualified and support us in every kind of issue. They guide us in their best possible ways. We have smart classrooms, so PPTs and videos help us understand topics more clearly. They clear all our doubts. With theoretical parts, they also give us some practical exposure which enhances our understanding level. The syllabus of our course is very much practical and application-based.
Other: I have always loved molecular biology and bioinformatics. There is no college in Kolkata, which combines these two subjects, but in our institution, these 2 subjects are combined. So, this course is the best one for me. I really loved my faculty members, our college labs and the course. Since we all are going through a pandemic, we didn't have any cultural events organised in our institution. But, we organised an event virtually, and our seniors and faculty members supported us the most.
