Presidency is not just a University, It's a way of Life!

Placements: Most placements take place for the students of Economics and Statistics departments. Companies like HSBC, Axis Bank etc. Recruit from these departments. Where as for Physics, Chemistry. Mathematics and Biological Sciences departments, mostly Private Coaching Institutes for JEE and NEET like Pathfinder, Bibek Academy of Career Toppers, R. I. C. E. come to recruit. Where as Geology students get placed in Hindustan Zinc Ltd. Earlier companies like Schlumburger, Coal India used to come. For Humanities Students, Bengali and English departmentstudents get chance to sit for content writing jobs occasionly. Otherwise no such Placement takes Place. 20% of total students of a batch get placement from the University. Average of 5 lacs rupees per annum packages are offered. University does't provide internship apart from industrial training for Geology students. Students get internships by their own. There is a placement cell in University but can't provide job opportunities for students of all branches. Most of the students take up Academic career further.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great. Wi-Fi facility, adequate AC classrooms with projector, Seminar rooms, Conference rooms, Library with plenty of Journal access are there but no. Of books in library must be increased, that's a long lasting students' demand in Campus. Medical Unit with Psychologist but without minimum medication is available in campus. Sports enthusiast can find Football, Cricket Basketball, TT, Badminton, Carrom facilities but there is no mentor or coach for any sports. Quality and cheap food available in 3 Canteens. Veg-non veg delicious North and South Indian foods are available. Girls hostel is in Saltlake, university provides bus for the hostel boarders. Eden Hindu hostel for boys are getting renovated, So, boys has to stay in Rajarhat from where Bus service is also provided by the authority. This is not a boarding campus. So Hostel allotments are done on the basis of distance, family income and result. New well planned laboratories are there in Science departments. Buildings are with lift facility and a bit physically handicapped friendly.

Faculty: There are both very god and very bad faculty members throughout the campus. Highly qualified faculty members, use both orthodox and digital techniques for teaching as per the subject requires. Student-teacher ratio is not upto the mark for all the departments. Biological Sciences has more faculty members where as bbengali, philosophy are lacking in faculty number. Teachers use English for their teaching. Some of my batch mates got industrial exposure in Effrac, a food processing company couple of years ago. My curriculum is very much helpful as lots of students got NET JRF from my batch.

Other: Gender sensitive, Caste sensitive Progressive Campus with whole lots of events like multiple Freshers welcome Party like ISPAT, Icon, Nobin Boron; Annual cultural fest Milieu take place. Very friendly crowds with progressive mind set are roaming around the campus. Proper connectivity via train, bus or Metro route is available. Scholarships for poor students are available like Merit cum means scholarship. People are engaged in lots of extracurricular activities like music, theater, dance. A newly opened department of Performing Arts is providing several workshops of music dance and drama for all the students. Students are also involved in Politics, Social welfare too.
