Yes, KSOU offers dual-degree programmes where candidates can pursue two ODL courses simultaneously. Candidates can even pursue one regular degree along with an ODL course of KSOU. However, this does not apply to the PhD programmes. The dual-degree programme was approved by UGC in 2022 and KSOU was the first university in the state to adopt it.

Karnataka State Open University offers PG, UG, PhD, diploma, and certificate courses to students. These courses are provided across the Management and various other students. KSOU is a state public Open University and was established by the act of the State Legislature in 1992, and was brought into force on 1st June 1996. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university is also approved by the DEC and AICTE (for MBA courses). It has a total of five schools namely The School of Humanities, The School of Social Sciences, The School of Commerce & Management, The School of Sciences, and The School of Education.
