Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) BSc is offered in the Open & Distance Learning (ODL) mode. The minimum and maximum duration of the programme are three and five years, respectively. KSOU conducts BSc admissions in two phases during the year. The admissions for the January cycle were concluded in March 2024. Step 1: Visit the official KSOU Online Admission Portal at www.ksouportal.com.
Step 2: Click on '2024-25 July/January Admission Cycle for UG/PG/Diploma and Certificate Programmes'.
Step 3: Click on 'New Registration' and fill in the required registration details to register.
Step 4: Your username will be instantly sent to you via e-mail or SMS. Use the username to log in.
Step 5: Fill out the application form with the required details, and upload your photo, signature & required documents.
Step 6: Submit the processing fee.
Once the candidate receives approval after the online document verification, they can proceed to submit the KSOU fee for the first year. Selected candidates must submit INR 23,900 towards the first-year BSc fee at KSOU. After completing the application process, candidates should visit the Regional Center for original document verification and study material collection.

KSOU scholarships are offered to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC category. These scholarships are offered in the form of fee reimbursements by the Social Welfare Department. Additionally, the university offers a fee concession of 10% on the tuition fee for BPL Holders (Women), Defense & Ex-servicemen, Auto/Cab Drivers & their families, and KSRTC/BMTC/KKRTC staff. KSOU provides 100% fee exemption to transgenders, children of COVID-19 deceased family and blind candidates. - Class 12/PUC in the stream of Science from any other recognised board, OR,
- Three-year Polytechnic/Diploma (CS/IT/EC/EE/IS)/Diploma with Mathematics as one of the core subjects or equivalent
