Q:   How can I get admission at Kasturba Medical College?
A: 

Kasturba Medical College admission 2025 are based on rank obtained by candidates in entrance examination. To get admission in any programme offered at Manipal Medical College at undergraduate, postgraduate, super specialty or fellowship level, candidates must appear for an entrance examination. Candidates may also be required to appear for Personal Interview round for some courses. The final round of KMC Medical College admission process is the counselling round.

KMC Manipal MBBS admission is made through rank obtained by candidates in the NEET UG. Admission to the MD or MS programme at Kasturba Medical College is through the rank obtained by candidates in NEET PG and M.Sc admission is through Manipal Entrance Test. KMC Manipal accepts NEET PG scores for admission to MD in General Medicine course. Recently, NTA has announced the NEET PG Round 3 Seat Allotment list for various All India categories. After glancing over the cutoffs, we can see that, to avail MD in General Medicine course, candidates need to acquire a decent rank of 6489 among General AI category candidates. Which was previously (2023 and 2022) released at 5546 and 8877, respectively.

Happy to be a part of KMC, Manipal.
Placements: Students got opportunities to work in various organizations such as AIIMS, PGIMER, and CMC Vellore. We got paid with an initial pay of 35,000 per month, which purely depended upon the organizations and the reputation of the centers. The maximum package was up to 56,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Every need is available within the campus, so it’s not necessary to move out of the college campus. Even day scholars are allowed to stay in the hostel in case of emergency. Hostellers are allowed to visit their home only once a month. In case of any emergencies, we must contact the administration office for leaving the hostels.
Faculty: Teachers have a stabilized mindset in handling the students. Teachers analyze the doubts of the students and give them a correct reply regarding them. The main examinations are conducted only once a year. In the middle, teachers conduct model examinations.

It is the most rated college for medicine.
Placements: After successful completion of a Bachelor's in Medicine, I would like to do a Master's in Psychiatry, while looking for its future scope. The college got integrated with various MNC hospitals and rehabilitation centres for placement focus. After completing training, we got hired, with the best package being 20.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Firstly, without wearing white coats, we aren't allowed inside the campus. There is tight security at the gate, and entry is allowed after proper record entries. Mostly, the mess is so rushed all the time because students from the hostel also use the mess to have their food. Visitors are not allowed inside the campus without a proper security check.
Faculty: Even scoring above average marks is more complicated. We should concentrate on practical class, training, and at the same time prepare for examinations. In the time gap, teachers gave a lot of assignments and tests. Teachers are excellent in delivering the practical concepts on live cases.

Successful college in Manipal.
Placements: During the training period, we were able to know our potential to implement the knowledge we gained throughout the course. Such training records were helpful to continue our career in various reputed hospitals. GSK, Eric Life Sciences, and Abbott were some renowned recruiters.
Infrastructure: Laboratories for pathology, anatomy, and biochemistry were individually isolated and arranged. Basically, needed preservatives and equipment were arranged before lab sessions by the lab assistants. Campus food was hygienic and suitable for all kinds of people.
Faculty: Teachers deal with various sessions like anatomy, pathology, biochemistry, etc. The syllabus for the whole course was huge but it was partitioned into every year for easiness. Mostly, students were exposed to hands-on experience classes to get obvious knowledge.

The premier medical college.
Placements: MD pharmacology students got placed in various top hospitals and research institutions. Mostly, during internships students were paid with the minimum stipend of Rs 30,000 per month. Indian Institute of Chemical Biology Parexel and NIPER were some of the recruiters of KMC, Manipal.
Infrastructure: Within the college campus hospitals were opened, which made it very easy for students to attend training sessions. In the hospital, more than 1000 beds were arranged to give training for students based on real-time cases. Events and sports were not encouraged by the college.
Faculty: Kasturba Medical College, Manipal ranked as the top medical college globally. They were expert instructors with years of teaching experience to train all the students over there. Clearing exams was a difficult task due to the dense and difficult syllabus. But faculty members were quite supportive.

Review of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.
Placements: Batch strength: 250 I have not passed out yet but according to my knowledge and some seniors, most of the students don't go for placement; they either do NEET PG or foreign entrance examinations like USMLE and PLAB. Few who wants to work in hospital get recruited easily. The package range is 1-2 lacs monthly.
Infrastructure: 1.Lecture:- Lecture halls are big and accommodate half of batch at a time. Fully air-conditioned and well lit. Speakers are good too. Faculty usually use PowerPoint and projectors. 2. Hostels : Three types of hostels are available for boys. Hostel room with minimum cost are also nice. The expensive one is quite luxurious. 3. Library:- The library is the best place of the college. It is huge and has ambiance for study. 4.Mess:- Mess is also clean and decent. They serve healthy meals. But once you join mess, it is difficult to eat somewhere else . 5.Sports complex:- Marena sports complex is a large building consisting of many sports sections like badminton, table tennis, swimming, turf for football, gym, etc. for gym, you have to pay monthly fee. 6.Hospital:- It is always jam-packed. For MBBS students, there is lot to learn from. There is a student clinic also for students when they get sick.
Faculty: 1. Teachers and faculties: Faculty are good in number in each department. They are always excited to teach. (Ratio:-1:20) They even help you personally if you get into trouble. 2 Curriculum: It's a vast course with 19 subjects; it makes you knowledgeable and useful in society. It is hectic but sure fruitful. If you like to study for whole life, go for it. 3. Examinations: Exams are divided into theories and practicals. Passing marks are 50%. Internal marks decides your eligibility for exam. All NMC guidelines are strictly followed (attendance, etc.). Overall, exams are slightly difficult. Out of 250 , 240 students passes out.
Other: 1. Why did I choose this course?? Simply because it has lots of study and I like to study. If you are not dedicated, don't go for this degree. It is hectic for even those who like the course. 2. The time they give to teach individual subjects is very little, even reduced recently. There should be real counselling support for students, as most of them go into mental health problems. They should include a different compulsory subject other than health science for widening the perspective. More research should happen. 3. Many events and festivals are there all over the year. Annual day, sports meet, cultural fests, etc. are there. Students and faculties both participate. 4. The location of the college is geographically beautiful; it has both mountains and beaches nearby. Mangalore is the closest airport.

MBBS is difficult, but worth is in the END.
Placements: It's a MBBS course, so no such placement is there after an internship in which you get a stipend of 30,000, you give the NEET PG exam, and then if you are successful, you go for higher studies. People here give the USMLE exam as well as the PLAB and other licensing exams, though teaching is very good here.
Infrastructure: There is a free Wi-Fi facility in both the hostel and the library. The classes are well maintained, and everywhere is air-conditioned. The mess food is hygienic, and there is a sports facility known as MARENA, which takes a subscription but has all the sports, whatever.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable, helpful, and highly qualified doctors. They know what they are teaching and are quite passionate about it. The course is a CBME-based curriculum and is updated each passing year. Exams are quite difficult and require rigorous preparation, but it is worth it in the end.
