It is the lesser known medical college in Virar.

Placements: My batch has 70 students. Since it is a medical college, we set up practices in clinics, and some of my seniors work as resident doctors in multi-speciality hospitals. Many renowned Homoeopathic practitioners have graduated from our college. The professors are very experienced. Apart from taking up practise as a Homoeopathic consultant, students graduated from the college can work as AYUSH officers, Homeopathic officer in the government sector, work in research of homoeopathy, to name a few.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure can be better. Wi-Fi is available only in the library. Labs are good. The college lacks the campus. OPD and hospital facilities need to improve. The library must have required books from more authors. The canteen does not offer much variety but is reasonably priced.

Faculty: The college has experienced faculty with good teaching techniques. They are well known in the homoeopathic fraternity. The course is as per MUHS guidelines and relevant to BHMS. The college conducts prelim exams, and the pass percentage is 50%. The university exams (BHMS) are held at the end of the academic year, and the pass percentage is 50%.

Other: I wanted to pursue something other than mainstream medicine. The course should include the basics of modern medicine for emergencies. The college hosts a fest every year for which students have to pay but value for money. Scholarships are offered to minorities by the university. The college is surrounded by greenery and mountains and is peaceful compared to Mumbai.

Candidate shall have passed Class 12 or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and shall have obtained mentioned percentage taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for the ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test’. However, this has been a subject matter of challenge before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, Hon’ble High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench, and Hon’ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur. Result awaited candidates can also apply however such candidates does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage at the time of first round of Counselling.
