B.Tech. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2021
3.8
Certified by NBA committee in 2019. Many programs and workshops are arranged.
Placements: As there are very few companies for biotechnology very few students are placed on the basis of UG. Some students are placed in IT companies. But there are various opportunities after M.Tech from good universities. If someone is interested in research then this branch is best.
Infrastructure: Huge infrastructure. Central library is available. Knowledge center is available. Hostel is best and food of hostel mess is also good. Hostel is 4 to 5 km away from college. Medical facilities are also available. Interested students can participate in university sports. Also annual sports competition are arranged.
Faculty: Every teacher is well qualified. Almost all held their Ph.D. degree. Apart from the study, there are many other activities held to make students ready for placement like soft skills, communication skills etc. Many programs and workshops are also arranged.

College is good enough well maintained and trying to get some more of it.
Placements: There is a training and placement cell in the college. The placement varies with every branch. Around 40-50% students from CSE and ECE department get placed. Overall the placement rate is 20%. The highest package offered is 9.38 LPA and the lowest package offered is 1.40 LPA. T&P cells provide internships in companies like NPTI, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Greenery surrounds PIET. The infrastructure of the college is very good and clean environment, students enjoy academics as well as sports but there is no Wi-Fi available to the college students, the labs are equipped well, but still waiting for more equipments to come.
Faculty: The faculty members are always available in college for students and the course circulates to every batch as there are many students in the college to get them know about the upcoming tests and University examination.
Other: They focus in academics as well as sports and cultural programme. The campus is beautifully designed, surrounded with greenery for positive vibes.

The teaching staff, infrastructure, and facilities of the college are satisfying.
Placements: There is a training & placement cell in the college. The placements vary with every branch. Around 40%-50% of the students from CSE and ECE departments get placed. Overall, the placement rate is 20%. The highest package offered is 9.38 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 1.40 LPA. T&P cell provides internships in companies like NPTI, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Greenery surrounds PIET. The infrastructure of the college is very good. The labs are very clean and provided with basic facilities. The college provides 24 hrs Wi-Fi facility available for the students and faculty members as well. The library is provided with all necessary books required, and various numbers of journals are available for chemical and biotechnology branch students, also for other branches. The sports and games facilities are negligible in the college. However, we can participate in university sports. The boys hostel is not that much good and safe. However, the girls hostel is quite good, clean, and safe. The quality of food offered in the canteen is worst.
Faculty: The faculty members are much qualified and knowledgeable, especially for the branches like biotechnology and chemical. Most of the faculty members of the college are doctorate holders. The quality of the teaching is good. They use very simple techniques for education and to teach the concepts. The college depends upon AICTE norms. The college organises an industrial visit and tours for the students, where they can get industry exposure. We visited the central forensic lab in 2nd year. The course curriculum is useful, but it feels like school and is very disciplined.
Other: The college organises various fests and events. Saptarang is the college culture and sports fest organised in February every year. Every year, Nirmiti is the national level paper and model competition organised. Every year, many departmental level technical and non-technical events are organised. The campus is surrounded by greenery, and it creates a good environment for studies. The departmental student forum organises extracurricular activities. The college does not provide scholarships for students.

Good campus. The course curriculum and the placements are bad.
Placements: If you are looking for placements, then you are in wrong place. No biotech companies visited since the course started here. Some biotech students who are fluent in English and have little big computer proficiency get placed in Infosys, Wipro, and Amazon as a customer service executive.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility available to the students. The labs are equipped well, but still, waiting for many equipment and machines. The classrooms are good. The library has books, but still, we require more in number. The best thing is campus which is very big and beautiful. It feels like heaven in Nagpur. There are 3 engineering, 1 architecture, 1 sport and an MBA college on the campus. There are very big playgrounds, swimming pool, and the cafeteria.
Faculty: The faculty members are good, but the course includes many chemical related subjects than core biotechnology. The students are facing problems in their M.Tech program because many subjects aren’t included in the course like agriculture, biotechnology, and many more. There are 5 PhD holder faculty members, and any rest 8-10 are with M.Tech degree. The most intelligent and helpful teacher is Dr Samvidhan Suke sir. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 12:1.
Other: Logically, it’s not biotechnology, but it’s biochemical technology. If you want to make your career in core biotechnology, then I would suggest going to a better college like IITs and NITs. If you want the college in Nagpur with the decent campus, then you can go for it.

Our college has a good infrastructure and faculty members.
Placements: It provides excellent placements for the biotechnology course. About 60% of students from our course got placed. The highest salary offered was Rs. 40,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 20,000 per month. The average salary offered was Rs. 25,000 per month. Many companies like Biocon, pharmaceutical companies, etc., visit our college for placements. About 80% of students an internship from the college. There is a placement cell.
Infrastructure: The library is available for reading books. Classrooms must be neat and clean here. Labs are available for biotechnology branches like microbiology, cell biology, tissue culture, etc. It should provide healthy food in the canteen. It should provide a hostel with all basic needs. I did not face any infrastructure-related issues during my tenure at the college.
Faculty: Our college has the best faculty members. They clear all our doubts. They have excellent knowledge. They are well-qualified. They coordinate with us, and they take us to various places for a visit like forensic labs, microbiology labs, etc.
Other: Our college conducts extracurricular activities.

Our college has a great campus, but still, it needs to provide many placement opportunities.
Placements: Campus placements were good, and many good companies like Persistent and Motif came to our college. But the placement should be improvised for the biotechnology branch as there are not many placements for them. They need to provide many placement opportunities for biotechnology branch and more guidance as well.
Infrastructure: Our college provided the best facilities for students where they can explore them fully. There were facilities like Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and sufficient practicals were performed. All the chemicals were adequately available to perform the practical. Daily two practicals were performed on a regular basis, but the methods were quite old, so it needs to be improvised.
Faculty: Teachers here were very helpful, and they guided and motivated us always to study. They completed the curriculum on time with proper practical examples and theory knowledge. They gave the right guidance. Only staff members should be available in the adequacy. The course should be revised with the latest technologies.
Other: Surrounding and environment inside and outside the campus are good.
