Q: How can I get admission in PhD programme at LPU Admission Office?

LPU Admission Office shortlists candidates for PhD admission based on their scores in LPUNEST. Aspirants who pass the entrance test have to further qualify interview round. The final selection for PhD admission is based on performance of the candidates in entrance test (80% weightage) and interview (20% weightage) subject to scoring minimum marks in the interview round.

Q: Can I apply for LPU PhD in offline mode?

Candidates can apply offline for PhD course as soon as they recieve the LPUNEST Kit. The application form can be submitted by one of the following methods: 1. Manual Application: Fill the full application form (OMR sheet) after reading all the instructions as specified under the head “Instructions for filling Application Form (OMR sheet)” and send it to the university in the self-addressed envelope on the following Address: Block 30, Room No 102, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar Delhi, GT Road, Phagwara, Punjab, India – 144411 2. Semi-Offline Application: In case applicant is unable to send the hard copy of application form (OMR Sheet), then applicant may scratch the Unique OMR code available on application form (OMR Sheet) and follow the below mentioned steps: Sign up on LPU ADMIT portal When prompted for payment, choose the option of Unique OMR Code (given on OMR Sheet)and fill the same.

LPU Admission Office PhD Eligibility & Highlights 2025

LPU Delhi offers PhD for a minimum duration of three-years at the doctoral level. The university offers full-time PhD in 42 specialisations. The university conducts a National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for PhD candidates. Check below LPU eligibility for PhD course:

Aspirants who have completed a master's degree (two-year/ four semester's degree after a three-year bachelor's degree) or equivalent with aggregate ranging between 55% and 65% or equivalent grades can apply for PhD programme.
Aspirants who have passed one-year/ two-semester master's degree programme with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grades prescribed by UGC after a four-year/eight-semester bachelor's degree can also apply.

LPU Admission Office PhD Admission Process 2025: How to Apply?

The admission cycle starts for PhD admission between October and November. Find below the steps to get admission to PhD programme:

Step 1: LPU PhD Application Process 2025

LPU PhD admission to all the above-mentioned specialisations is done through online mode. Candidates, fulfilling the eligibility criteria, need to apply online through the admission portal of the university. The exam fee for LPUNEST (soft copy of LPUNEST KIT) is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. The printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1,500 for boys and INR 1,000 for girls. Check below the steps to apply for LPU admission:

Step 1.1: Visit the official website of LPU, https://www.lpu.in/, and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.

Step 1.2: Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes).

Step 1.3: Upload the requisite documents.

Step 1.4: Pay the application fee and hit the submit button to complete the application process.

Recent photograph
Mark sheet and passing certificates of Class 10, Class 12 and graduation
Qualifying exam certificate/ mark sheet
Address proof

Step 2: Slot Booking

This step is applicable only to the candidates wishing to appear for LPU NEST PhD. In LPUNEST slot booking 2024, candidates need to select an exam date and a shift for appearing in the exam. There are two ways to book the slot that are slot booking by the candidate and slot booking by the authorities of Lovely Professional University.

Step 3: Selection

LPU selects candidates for PhD programme based on LPUNEST PhD score. The university will also consider the academic performance of the candidates for final selection. Below is the weightage of selection parameter for PhD:

Applicants who have qualified UGC (NET/ JRF) / CSIR (NET/ JRF) / ICAR (JR / SRF) examinations/ SLET (Punjab only) / GATE or GPAT scorecard/ ICAR (NET), SPM, Teacher Fellowship holder or passed MPhi. programme (in regular mode only) are exempted from entrance examination LPUNEST (PhD).

Step 4: Admission Confirmation

Once the selection rounds are completed, selected candidates for PhD are further called for a document verification round. Aspirants need to confirm their seats by paying the PhD course fee.

Satisfactory college with great placements.

Placements: Lovely Professional University has a good placement rate, with about 85% of students placed in my course last year. The highest package was 45 LPA, the lowest was 4 LPA, and the average was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Sun Pharma, Zydus, Dr. Reddy, etc. Also, students can do internships in companies like Sun Pharma and Dr. Reddy.

Infrastructure: Lovely Professional University provides good facilities for the students, including good classrooms, the best library, and well-equipped labs with necessary equipment. Also, the hostel is quite satisfying with good food in the mess, and there is a dedicated hospital for students. The facility for sports given here is unmatched; every type of sport is available, including an Olympic-size swimming pool.

Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and quite helpful too, but students have to study by themselves to score well in the examination. The semester exams are not very difficult, and the passing criteria are 35%. This course is relevant as it gives you exposure to the pharmaceutical industry.

Other: I chose this course because I was very much interested in medicine and its study; also, it has good scope in the future. One thing I want to improve about this course is there should be a recorded lecture option so that every student can revise their classes after returning home.
