Admissions into Lucknow Institute of Technology, or LIT for short, are comparatively less problematic than some of its competitors, but then will depend greatly on the course for admission and the overall academic profile of the applicant. Most commonly, B.Tech requirements will demand a student pass his or her 10+2 with minimum aggregate marks of 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Common entrance test scores or other merits work as the key eligibility criterion for admission to many programs. For MBA, a valid score in management entrance exams like UPSEE MBA or CAT is required. The competition level for admission is not very high as that of top-tier institutions; however, the eligibility criteria need to be met to secure a seat.

The Lucknow Institute of Technology provides UG, PG and Diploma programmes. The courses include BTech, MTech, MBA, and Polytechnic (Diploma).
