Life at M. O. P. Vaishnav College for Women, Chennai by Harini.

Placements: They do have a placement cell where the placement starts in this final semester. The most recruiting companies are Accenture, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Prelude Systems, Zoho, and many more startups. The average package lies between 3 and 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is well maintained and clean. It has a library, which can be used to issue books. Beside the library is the computer lab, which is used by the students of data science and computer science. It also has a small area with parking space for two-wheeled vehicles.

Faculty: I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Science. This is an undergraduate programme that focuses on equipping students with the necessary skills to analyse, interpret, and manage data. The curriculum typically combines elements of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. It provides domains of specific knowledge for comprehensive understanding and taking data-driven decisions. The entry requirements and eligibility are that a person must complete the 12th standard with 70% or more, having math as one of their subjects. My motive for choosing data science has various reasons, including the career opportunities it provides. It is a rapidly growing field with high demands across various industries such as finance, healthcare, technology, and retail. It also has high earning potential for the next 10 years.

Other: My experience in MOP was really, really good. MOP has so many courses, and the faculty members are really well trained and have high standards. MOP will give you a number of opportunities if you are ready to take them. MOP has labs, a canteen, a library, big classrooms, an auditorium, and many more facilities. MOP has so many extracurricular activities, side courses, and festivals where you can participate and learn new things. MOP will provide placement opportunities where big companies will be involved. Teachers there will ask students to take seminars, which will help them prepare for the exams. Projects, seminars, and presentations will definitely improve your interest in studying. MOP's festivals are the best. While talking about festivals, MOP's biggest festival, 'Vish', is the best; it is celebrated during Navratri. MOP Bazaar is also one of the best events. Every year, MOP conducts its bazaar, where students get an open opportunity to earn.

Life in MOP Vaishnav College for Women.

Placements: 75% of the students get placed. The highest package would be 12 LPA, and the lowest package would be 3 LPA. Top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Amazon and Deloitte. The recruiters look forward to the students skill set, knowledge and communication. But it is advised that the student score a CGPA of 7.5 or more.

Infrastructure: Students are offered labs with Wi-Fi, a library, a canteen, an auditorium, parking spaces, seminar halls, and classrooms with projectors. A medical facility is also offered at the campus that is offered by Apollo Shine. The canteen is a base for Nithya Amirtham and hot breads.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable in their fields. It is 50% theoretical and 50% practical. The curriculum is relevant and it makes the student industry ready. The semester exams are not very difficult. It is indeed easy to crack. The pass percentage is 40%.

Other: I chose this course because I'm interested in coding and technology-related stuff.

Placements: There are so many internship opportunities provided to the students. Career skills training is also given. The placements for psychology start at the end of the 5th semester. But most of the offerings are related to HR. Only a handful of people apply for placements, while 99% of the students continue with post-graduation. Comparatively, there are not many placement opportunities.

Infrastructure: There is a special psychology lab, food science lab, and creative visualization labs too. Students can use the Wi-Fi. Each class is quite ventilated and provided with a smart board. Students can access the library and cafeteria. There is no hostel and bus facility. Students have to either use public or private transport. There are a lot of PG hostels available nearby. MOP excels at sports. However, the facilities inside the college are not that good, so it tries to partner with various private services. There are also vending machines, and the cafeteria is run by Nithya Amritham and Hot Breads. Food is quite expensive.

Faculty: Faculty members are very much experienced and knowledgeable. They are always helpful not only in academics but also in career development. The syllabus is very much updated for this technological world. The exams are average in difficulty, with a 100% pass percentage.

Other: Psychology is a vast, diversifying subject that grows forever. In this technological world, people definitely seek mental health guidance, and there come psychologists. There are so many events happening in MOP, both interdepartmental and intercollegiate, providing contacts. Scholarships are also provided for students with a parental income of around 300,000. MOP is quite compact compared to other colleges.

Good Placements in 2022, Average infrastructure and faculty members.

Placements: In 2022, it was corona time so we had very huge placements happening during that time and the maximum salary package was 4 LPA and the lowest was 2 LPA. Deloitte hired many people and there were many more companies like EY, Infosys, TCS, and many more.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, we do have all facilities, only thing is the college is very small, not very spacious, otherwise we have all facilities required for the course, a library with many books, Wi-Fi, and we have newspapers as well. Canteen is good but not that cheap.

Faculty: Faculty members have knowledge, but few teachers lack good teaching skills. Because of this, it would be better if we put efforts and study on our own, and our PG will always be like that. It would be a learning in UG itself. The course curriculum is very relevant and vast. Semester exams are a little bit tricky.

Other: We have many events conducted, but they do get money for that if it is for your department fest. The course is good, nothing much to improve on it. The campus is very small and looks crowded, but will be very clean and looks so good.

M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women has good campus life.

Placements: Top companies in the core IT field like Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, etc., visit the campus, Since I'm from the CSC ( IT) department, students get placed in various niches like software developers, web designers, etc. A decent package for freshers is being offered which is hiked according to the performance of the student in the company.

Infrastructure: The food available in the college canteen is well and good but a bit expensive. It used to be even good. There's a slight change due to the change of contract of the caterers. This doesn't make pretty much a difference. There are a variety of food and snacks available all the time. The college doesn't have a hostel for students to reside and study. You will have to look for some PGs to stay. There are several safe and hygienic women's hostels in and around Nungambakkam for your convenience.

Faculty: The syllabus is updated every year and even every semester to match the needs of the industry today. Teachers even study and update themselves with the latest trends in the industry and train the students at their best to assure 100% placements.

Other: MOP is the best campus in the city concerning academics and placements. Besides, many events are held now and then from various departments and clubs in the college which provide a good platform to showcase your talents apart from academics. The college is strict concerning freedom like the other colleges to bunk classes. The level of your freedom is based on the department which you choose. Students from some departments have their full freedom including the dress code ( which has restrictions but is not limited to just Kurtis) and some other core department students have to adhere to the strict regulations. Do consult with any alumni if you know any, for further information about the college.

MOP holds the best faculty with good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Around 80% of the students got placed with an average package of 12000 per month to 2 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies include cognizant, infosys, tcs and lot more. Roles such as assisant researcher, etc. were offered. Many students also got opportunities to take up internships at various sectors with good stipend.

Infrastructure: College has well-furnished classrooms with wi-fi facility. Library also looks very classic. MOP college also has super cool computer lab with AC facility and also a psychology laboratory which is well maintained. Overall infrastructure of the college is commendable while one small disadvantage is that the campus is small compared to other colleges. There's no hostel facility available but as far as I've seen, students live at private hostels around the college area. Canteen also looks clean and good with pure vegetarian food and snacks. Ground area of MOP is quite small for huge number of people to play at a time. First aid medical facilities is also available.

Faculty: I must definitely say that the faculty of MOP college are extremely knowledgeable and talented enough that they make students lives easier with their extraordinary teaching skills. They are upto date and organized with lesson plans and even provide us revision before exams. Semester exam's level of difficulty depends on how a student percieves a question paper. It ranges from moderately easy to moderately hard level and I think we all had managed to do our exams well. Pass percentage is 40%.

Other: I chose my course out of passion and I m completely satisfied with every inch of this college. Campus surroundings is well managed and looks classic and beautiful. MOP not only excels in academics but also it encourages the students to participate in a lot of events, fests and extra curricular activities too. Events like abhilasha, yuva samman, shristi, etc. takes place to bring out the talent of the students and encourage in a best way.
