B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2028

Overall, the college is pretty good. But the campus is very small, having no grounds.
Placements: I am currently studying B.Tech in Information Technology at this college. I will complete the course in 2028. The college offers pretty good placements. The highest package offered is around 7 LPA, and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Companies like TCS, Geotech, etc. Visit the college.
Infrastructure: The college has a pretty big library offering numerous books. The Wi-Fi connection is also decent. However, the college has no hostel of its own. The labs here also have various equipment and are air conditioned. The college also has a canteen and offers good food.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and well qualified. The college is under MAKAUT University, so the semester exams are kind of moderate. The pass percentage is around 80%. Teachers here are always ready to guide the students at any point they feel stuck.
Other: The college hosts several events, such as cultural and sports events. It also organizes a well known technical event named Paridhi. The college has numerous clubs that host these events.

Deep review of MSIT, Kolkata.
Placements: Placements are average for the CSE course and very bad for core subjects. In civil, there are chances of being placed off campus or on campus by the placement cell. Our CSBS placements are good. The Tata company hires us, but if we find off-campus, then it benefits us directly. In some courses, placements are very bad.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available, but not given to students. Rooms are not available because of a huge influx of admissions. The rest of the things are good. Labs are well-maintained. The seminar hall is also good. Our department class is in a bad position, and AC is not working at all.
Faculty: Some teachers are very good, and some are poor. The maximum lab faculty members is bad. They behave badly toward students. Sometimes, they say such words that are very demotivating. They put pressure on attendance pressure, or else our CA marks are affected, which gives us an absence and affects CGPA.
Other: Everything is average, but I recommend all don't take admission in MAKAUT-affiliated colleges or in MSIT because the whole system is very bad. They internationally fail us and give a low score, which affects CGPA directly. After we fail, they recover money or take PPR (review) money and then pass us. I recommend students take admission in an autonomous college that is affiliated with MAKAUT.

It has good faculty members and placement assistants.
Placements: Around 80-85% of students got placed. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Wipro. Nearly 70% of students secured internships in companies like TCS and Internshala-listed startups. Roles offered range from full-stack developer and QA engineer to data analyst and support engineer. The placement cell conducts regular soft-skill sessions and mock interviews to enhance student preparedness.
Infrastructure: The CSE department has well-equipped computer labs, a table Wi-Fi, and projectors in classrooms. The library is resourceful with both physical and digital access. Hostel facility is not available. The mess food is average but hygienic. Overall, the infrastructure is sufficient for academic needs.
Faculty: Most teachers are qualified and supportive, especially in CSE. They are approachable for doubts and project guidance. The course curriculum is mostly industry-relevant, with subjects aligned to current trends in tech. Coding clubs and workshops further enhance learning. Semester exams are moderately tough but manageable with regular study.
Other: The college offers good returns for the fee charges. Considering the placement support, lab facilities, and faculty members, it is value for money. Scholarships are also available for deserving students, and educational loans are accepted. The campus has a healthy and diverse crowd. There are multiple student-run clubs and fests like TechStorm. Cultural events are also organised throughout the year. The college is well-connected to the city via metro and bus. The surrounding area is safe and has eateries and hostels. Extracurricular activities are encouraged.

The college has skilled faculty members.
Placements: The placement record of MSIT (master of science in information technology) is consistently strong, with top recruiters from IT, consulting, and product-based companies. Students receive offers from leading firms such as Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Accenture, and Infosys. The programme's curriculum, focused on practical skills and industry needs, prepares students well for real-world challenges. Internships, workshops, and career guidance further enhance employability. The average package is competitive, and many students secure roles in software development, data science, and system architecture.
Infrastructure: The MSIT course offers well-equipped labs, high-speed Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and access to a central library with digital resources. There are no hostel facilities; canteen food is hygienic and offers both veg and non-veg options. The canteen serves snacks and beverages throughout the day. Basic medical facilities are available on campus, and students can access nearby clinics. There is no playground. You have to take a mess or PG from outside, such as the Sahara Hostel.
Faculty: The faculty for the MSIT course is experienced and supportive, with many having industry and research backgrounds. The curriculum is well-structured, focusing on both theoretical foundations and hands-on skills in programming, data structures, machine learning, and system design. Regular assignments, quizzes, projects, and presentations ensure practical learning. Exams are conducted fairly and include both midterms and end-of-semester. Industry-relevant tools and case studies are integrated into teaching to prepare students for real-world challenges.
Other: I chose the MSIT (2023 batch) programme for its practical, industry-focused curriculum. The best part was the balance between theory and real-world application through projects and internships. However, the course could improve by offering more electives and industry-certified workshops. The campus hosts vibrant tech fests, cultural events, and hackathons. The crowd is diverse and collaborative. The campus is well-connected, with nearby cafes and amenities. Scholarships are available based on merit. Clubs and extracurricular activities are highly active.

Good placements, supportive faculty members, and modern infrastructure.
Placements: Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT) maintains a strong placement record, with around 75-85% of eligible students placed annually, mainly from CSE, IT, and ECE branches. The highest package offered is around 12 LPA to 15 LPA, and the average package is about 4 LPA to 5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, and others. Many students also secure internships, often leading to PPOs. The training and placement cell actively supports students through training and mock interviews.
Infrastructure: Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT) offers modern infrastructure for CSE and related courses, with well-equipped computer labs, high-speed internet, smart classrooms, and a central library with digital resources. Campus has good Wi-Fi coverage and access to coding platform. Hostel facilities are decent, with separate accommodation for boys and girls, providing clean rooms, regular meals, and 24X7 security. Basic amenities like laundry, common rooms, and medical support are also available, ensuring a comfortable stay for students.
Faculty: Faculty members of MSIT in CSE and related courses are qualified, supportive, and experienced in both academics and industry. They guide students in projects, coding, and research. The curriculum follows MAKAUT guidelines, covering core subjects like DSA, DBMS, AI, ML, and software engineering, with regular updates to match industry needs. The exam structure includes internal assessment, assignments, labs, and semester-end university exams. Practical learning is emphasized through mini projects, presentations, and coding tasks alongside theoretical understanding.
Other: I am from the B.Tech CSE batch of 2023-2027 at MSIT. I chose this course driven by my passion for programming and emerging technologies. The best part is the hands-on learning, supportive faculty members, and ample project opportunities. I wish the curriculum integrated more industry-relevant tools and advanced tech like cloud computing and devOps. The campus hosts technical and cultural fests, features a diverse and energetic student body, offers reliable connectivity, and supports extracurricular activities alongside scholarships for meritorious students.

With 82.57 percentile and Delhi home quota, CSE in MAIT/MSIT is almost impossible. For general quota CSE, MAIT closing rank is around 47–48k and MSIT home state around 109k. Spot round chances are super slim at this rank.
