Prof. Tirole's thorough examination of market power and restrictions earned him the 2014 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. His academic achievements in game theory, economics, and psychology are unmatched, and he has received several honours and accolades for them. He serves as a distinguished visiting professor at MIT. Additionally, he serves as the foundation's honorary chairman for the JJ Laffont-Toulouse School of Economics (TSE). In addition to receiving the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, his notable academic achievements also include the 2007 BBVA Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Economics, Finance, and Management, the Yrjo Jahnsson Prize of the European Economic Association, and the Gold Medal of the CNRS. In addition to writing 12 books and more than 200 articles, he has delivered more than 100 lectures around the world. His academic contributions are not limited to the field of economics, as his framework for creating regulations has found use in a variety of industries, from telecommunications to finance.

The Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Government of France jointly established the distinguished Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/CEFIPRA). Additionally, CEFIPRA serves as a hub for international cooperation in research across a range of Science & Technology fields.
