Yes, NIFT Kolkata does offer admission to foreign students. NRI students are shortlisted based on their GMAT/ GRE/ SAT scores among other parameters. The institute reserves 5 seats for students applying via NRI/ foreign national category. Students must satisfy the eligibility to get into the institute. The basic eligibility requires candidates to have a Degree/ Certificate from a recognised board/ university and an equivalence certificate obtained from AIU, New Delhi. To get into NIFT Kolkata, General AI category students need a rank ranging between 162 and 3060 for admission to any of the available courses, namely, BDes course branches, BFTech and MFM. According to the NIFT Kolkata last round cutoff, the most competitive course for enrolment was the MFM course, with a closing rank of 365. This same course had the first round closing rank of 162.

For admission to NIFT Kolkata, candidates needn to clear the e Th National Institute of Technology (NIFT).  The exam is conducted once every year and has TWO parts:

• Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes candidates need to take the CAT. 
• Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.    

The FINAL score of NIFT 2025 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
