The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) releases the official schedule at - niftadmissions. The schedule includes the event-wise dates related to the NIFT 2025 entrance exam. National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur is a government institute. It has a great infrastructure and is equipped with great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs, and specialised workshops for hands-on learning. The application process for NIFT 2024 will be conducted online. After completing the application process, inclduing payment of fees, the candidate must download a printout of the application form.

In fact, the NIFT prospectus prescribes the candidate to “apply on time and keep a printout / photocopy of application form for further reference along with proof of payment.”

The NIFT 2024 application form is for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. There are 18 participating NIFTs that currently have a combined intake of 5.215 seats.

Students are required to pay the application fee to submit the form and complete the application process of NIFT Kannur. It is non-refundable. It should be noted that the fee is taken from the official source and is subject to change. NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.

• Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT. 
• Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.    

The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.

NIFT Kannur is a government institute. The entrance exam is further divided into three parts, i.e., Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round.

• Income declaration-affidavit (Format- B) on non-judicial stamp paper of 10 (Rupees Ten) by each parent.

• Photocopies of Passport and PAN card of parents / guardian and applicant. However, in case the student /parent/ guardian does not possess PAN Card and/or Passport, then an Affidavit may be taken from the student to that effect.
• School leaving certificate for class X and XII (Proof of school fee, wherever possible).
• The copy of receipt of tuition fee paid for the current semester i.e. July – December. vii. Schedule (Format -C details of agricultural land and property, etc.) duly signed by parent with relevant revenue record.
• Bank statements for the last 12 months for all the accounts mentioned in Schedule (Format- C).
