NIFT Kolkata offers a BFTech programme with a duration of four years. The institute accepts 42 applications every year for the BFTech programme. Admission to the same is based on a valid score in GAT. The eligibility and more details of the course is given below:

Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree equivalent to the Master's degree, by the corresponding statutory a regulatory body, with at least mentioned marks aggregate or its equivalent Grade ‘B' in the UGC 7 or 10-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

A good choice is for anyone who wants to study a unique course.

Placements: There was 100% placement. The highest package went up to 15 LPA, the lowest went up to 3.4 LPA and the average package is 3.5-4 LPA. Laguna, Silver spark, Raymonds and also some industries of Bangladesh are some top recruiting companies. Every student got an internship since it is compulsory and from good companies. The top roles offered are Merchandiser, Production manager etc.

Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi all over the college. There are 7-8 labs in the college including a Mac lab. There is a decent library which is very helpful. The classrooms are not the very best but in good condition. Sports competitions are held very frequently. The food quality of the canteen is not good but the food of mess is good. There are medical facilities available.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. This a very relevant course. It makes student industry ready though the ambience is not industry-like. The semester exams are not very tough. There are assignments you need to submit for mid-term and end-term. Exams are both written and presentation based known as jury. The pass percentage is 35%. Other than attendance issues usually students don't fail.

Placement is really good but infrastructure is not upto the mark.

Placements: Kolkata B.FTech has a record of 100% placement for almost every year. The highest salary of last year placement was 16 Lacs/annum where as the lowest - 4 Lacs/annum. Almost every apparel brand comes for the placement like Raymond's, Hoffman, Arvind etc. People from B.FTech are generally offered the job of merchandiser, retailer, floor manager etc. It's mandatory to do internship from the end of the second year, there are thousands of industries who accepts the NIFT students as interns.

Infrastructure: The whole campus has very fast Wi-Fi connection, For B.FTech students, there are two IT labs, one pattern making lab, one garment construction labs and two machine labs with advanced machines. Library is very important part of the college. It has very good collection of books. Classrooms are also the clean and we'll maintained. Besides this the hostel is well maintained but there are 3-5 persons in a single room. No hostel facilities for Boys. The quality of food in the mess keeps changing in every year as different companies come. Canteen food is also good.

Faculty: Teachers are very supportive throughout the course of time and are highly educated also with immense knowledge. The teaching skills are beyond the mark of excellence. Yes the course curriculum is relevant but not apt as the education level and field is becoming advance the course must also include advancements. As the curriculum is changing some things have changed for good but some are not satisfactory.

The college has a very good infrastructure, good connectivity and great placement.

Placements: The placement of our seniors is almost 100%. Everyone got placed in different companies like Arvind, Shahi Exports, Must Garments, Laguna Clothing, Aquareel, etc. The highest package from my campus during placement in the year 2016 was 14 lacs/annum. The average package was 3.5 lacs/ annum. All the students get their internship by the college or by themselves.

Infrastructure: The campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. We have garment construction labs, pattern making labs, IT labs, library with a resource centre, all day doctor's availability, a canteen, a gym, cafeteria and other facilities useful for students. There is hostel availability for girls only. The college infrastructure is really awesome.

Faculty: The faculty members here are experienced, qualified and helpful too. The classroom teaching is equipped with LCD projectors. Some classes are conducted in IT labs which are equipped with different software helpful for the teaching of students and making them aware of the current trend in the industry. The students are going for industry visit on a regular basis as it is a part of the syllabus.

Other: The college is having different clubs for extracurricular activities like a sports club, literary club, culture club and social club. The annual fest of the college is called "Spectrum", and it happens in the month of February every year. The students from other colleges participate in the events of the fest with great enthusiasm. Transport facility well connects the campus.

NIFT- full of fun with practical knowledge of fashion and its technology.

Placements: 100% placement for the department of fashion technology. Most of the students are placed during graduation project in the final year. The campus placement is also at its best. For the 2017 placement, the batch of bachelor of fashion technology got placed at Sahi Exports, Silver Spark Apparel Ltd, Reliance Trends, etc.

Infrastructure: All NIFT campuses have a beautifully designed infrastructure. The campus has a clean environment. The classrooms have proper desks and tables. Everything is maintained properly. There's a proper ground for sports and other activities and a separate badminton court, basketball court, auditorium for events and programs.

Faculty: High-speed Wi-Fi is available inside the campus. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned. There are different labs like GC lab, PM lab, dyeing lab, weaving lab, knitting lab available. Sports club, social club for extra-curricular activities, doctor chamber, etc. are also there.

Other: The faculty members are really helpful. They do not discriminate and help us in finding internship and further study abroad. The assignments are properly explained by the faculty of the concerned subject. Every year, a mentor is allotted by our college to each student. We can talk with our mentor (faculty member) regarding our problems that we face in our college and what we are supposed to do in the concerned subject. The mentor suggests us how to present in front of the jury members and helps us to explore.

Join NIFT and be a proud garment technologist.

Placements: This department has had 100 percent placement record for the past years. Big national and international companies turn up in the placement drives. NIFT has centralised placements which mean that all the students are allowed to take part in the drives happening across the nation. A lot of exciting jobs are offered here.

Infrastructure: There is nothing as such to boast about. We do not have lush green hundreds of acres of land but the location is centralised and very approachable. Since the admissions are very limited we do not need a bigger environment. Every department has their fully functional labs. As for technical facilities, all the resources we need are available on the campus. The machines are well-maintained and so are the classrooms. The college has Wi-Fi, a pretty decent resource centre, and a NIFT shop as we call it where we get everything we need for the assignments. Then we have an auditorium and courts for sports. There are four student clubs that organise various events throughout the year.

Faculty: This course is meant for aspiring merchandisers or people who want to work in the garment industry but not designing. We are taught everything from communication skills to various software, and garment construction pattern making. We have management subjects as well, so the curriculum is designed quite well keeping in mind the overall development. Also, the faculty members are highly qualified and well-approachable.

Other: We also have frequent industry visits and then we have an outbound program. Also, we have a 2-week textile internship, 3 months apparel internship and a semester of the graduation project. Also, we have our inter-college fest "Spectrum" in the month of February. And we have converged it is an all-NIFT event where students from all the centres across the nation meet at a centre and we have various competitions amongst us.
