I feel they should give placement nicely.

Placements: Only 1 or 2 students got placed in the year. They should have worked on their placement system. Otherwise, they gave you a chance to work at LFW, though that was fine. They gave more workshops than other colleges and also gave you a chance to volunteer at Lakme Fashion and Bombay Times.

Infrastructure: They had only classrooms and Wi-Fi, nothing more. There was no canteen in place, but they organized a sports day. It was not like a college. It was like an institute and was just small, but you got more entertainment while doing window displays and all.

Other: Fashion was my passion. NIF needed to improve its placement system. Otherwise, it was the best. I thought fashion had a future and you should have a career in fashion, but for college and placement, it was not a better option. I was saying again that the college was really helpful for your knowledge, but if you wanted to pursue it in the future, that was not the right place because they did not provide placements. For a fashion designer, it was really important to have placement because everyone asked for your experience, and during the starting period, that was really difficult.

Our college is good and provides good placements.

Placements: It was the best college for placements. I was an average student and I got placed on campus placement. They provided good placements. Credit courses helped us to get placements.

Infrastructure: The laboratory was good. The cafeteria was big. The food served in the canteen was the best. The canteen was clean.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful and supportive. They helped us to get the knowledge. They cleared all doubts. They taught us professionally. They gave us assignments to complete it. Semester exams were not difficult. The pass percentage was 77%.

Other: I got to learn the different types of design in our course. The course is the best for students who are doing bachelor's in fashion designing. There are various societies like Jim's, etc. This is the best college and I would recommend joining this college.

There is no standard 'International exam' for fashion designing. You need to apply for each school separately. Schools usually require an essay and portfolio. This process starts in November itself.

Can I get fashion design or communication at Mumbai NIFT? My NIFT general rank is 3344 and OBC rank 612.

Hi Seema, According to last year's cut off, OBC rank 611 got the last seat of Fashion Design department in NIFT, Delhi and OBC rank 961 got the last seat of Fashion Communication department in NIFT, Mumbai. So with an OBC rank 612, you can try for FC but it will be tough for FD.
