To be eligible for BDes at NIFT Patna, the candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board and his/her age should be less than 24 years.

Admissions at National Institute of Fashion Technology are entrance based. There is an entrance exam conducted by the institute named as NIFT test. The test includes various parts like Creative ability test, general ability test, group discussion etc. The students need to qualify in the entrance exam in order to get admission. Cutoff will be released based on the number of seats and applications. Students need to qualify in the cutoff rank also. The cutoff rank for B Des fashion designing in 2023 was 1692.
