The following is the selection process for B Des at National Institute of fashion technology. 

1.The students need to fill the online application form from the Institute's official website with all necessary details like 12th, 10th marks etc. 

2.After filling the application form student will be called to qualify for the NIFT test which includes aptitude tests, group discussions etc. after that the students need to wait for the cutoff. 

3.If the students qualifies in the cutoff, the NIFT counselling will take place. 

4.After counselling, the students will be given the final admission. 

Talking about the minimum NIFT entrance marks required, it totally depends on the seats available, and the cutoff. The cutoff rank which was required for BDes in fashion Designer in 2023 was 1692. All other specialisations will have different ramks. 

The total seat intake of NIFT Patna BDes is 176 seats. The seats are equally divided among the four specialisations, that is, the seat intake for each specialisation is 44.

BDes at NIFT Patna is offered in four different specialisations and they are, Accessories Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design and Textile Design. The duration of the course is four years and admission to NIFT Patna BDes is done through the NIFT Entrance exam.NIFT Entrance Exam is divided into three parts i.e. Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion, and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round. Candidates planning to pursue BDes are required to appear for CAT and GAT exams followed by the Situation Test.

To be eligible for NIFT Patna BDes, candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board and his/ her age should be less than 24 years as of 1st Aug of the year of admission.

No, you cannot join National Institute of Fashion Technology Patna directly. You need to qualify in the entrance exam in order to take admission. The entrance exam is conducted by the university which is NIFT test. This exam contains various levels or steps like aptitude test, situation test, group discussion etc. Students need to qualify in the entrance exams and the cutoff. The cutoff will be released according to the number of seats and applicants. After the student qualifies in the cutoff he/she will pass through final admission steps and will get the final admission.

The candidate will need the following documents to participate in the NIFT counselling process: Class 12/ degree mark sheet and certificate. Further, if the candidate is seeking admission to the PG course, then the candidate will also have to upload mark sheets and certificates of the qualifying degree examination.

In case of candidates who have appeared for the qualifying exam/ compartment (of final year/semester) and the result is due need to upload the date sheet /admit card for the examination. Other documents required are a Birth certificate, Category certificate, Medical fitness certificate, signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format in original.

NIFT Patna cutoff 2024 was concluded for all the UG and PG courses. NIFT 2024 counselling had four regular rounds and one SPOT round of seat allotment for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. During the NIFT Patna cutoff 2024, the most in-demand course was B.Des. in Fashion Communication with a last-round cutoff of 1339. For the same course, the closing cutoff was 1812 in 2023, while in 2022, the cutoff closed at 1513 for the candidates belonging to the General AI quota.
