NIT Jalandhar is a tier 1.5 college only because of its remote location.
Placements: The average package offered for the CSE course is around 18 LPA. The lowest package for top branches is around 12 LPA. High-performing students can get a package of 52 LPA on campus. The highest package offered off-campus is 1.2 crores per annum. Core branches have many PSUs, like Trident, that visit the college for placements and internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is present throughout the campus. Labs are new and well-maintained. There are two main libraries. The new library is a state-of-the-art construction with a seating capacity of 900ish people at once. The old library contains almost every text we need throughout the course. Hostels are way better than most of the other NITs. The mess food is good. First-year students get 4-sharing rooms, and from the 2nd year, we get 2-sharing rooms.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated. The course curriculum is well-defined and industry-ready, especially for mathematics and computing. We will be taught things like schocastic calculus and topology, which are highly relevant for someone working in quantitative finance.
Other: Connectivity is an issue. The college is built in a remote location, which makes travel to and from the city a little expensive if done without sharing.

A much better experience than expected.
Placements: Placements here are much better than expected. All seniors I know are placed somewhere, and for CSE, IT, ECE the placements are very good. Last year, more than 10 students secured 52 LPA (the highest on campus). The institute also gives internship opportunities in Microsoft, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good and modern, and the college gives an aesthetic vibe in the months of autumn and winter (leaves and fog everywhere). Hostels are a bit older, but there are new hostels as well, and new hostels are also under construction. Everything is of modern architecture because most of the buildings were made recently.
Faculty: The faculty are highly qualified, but the speed of teaching is very slow, and there are many irrelevant subjects in the course for 1st-year students. There are some subjects related to entrepreneurship and startups as well. Exams are a bit tough here, and the institute follows the 75 percent attendance criteria strictly.

Honesty, not very impressed by an NIT, but still worth the money, average placements in 2025.
Placements: Due to being in the first year, I’m not very sure about placements, but as far as I know, the average package is around 12 LPA, and the highest goes up to 52 LPA. VLSI is a new branch, so there’s no placement data available for this branch yet, but I assume the data will be similar to the ECE branch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent. The classes are good, and the hostels are fine. Food is good as well. The first year, hostels have too many students in a single room, though 4 kids are in a single room. The labs are pretty good. Honesty rest, I don't know. The clubs are pretty bad, they don't even have a dance room.
Faculty: I'm not a huge fan of the teachers. Our teachers are pretty bad, and the curriculum isn’t available on the internet, so you have to rely on bad teachers. I didn’t score well in the first sem so of course I’m not happy about the faculty and exams. The pressure isn't a lot, though.

Really good nature, good environment, decent placement.
Placements: 100% students are placed in chemical engineering. 16 LPA is the highest, 3 LPA is the lowest, and the average is around 7.25 LPA. Trident and Wipro recruit. 45% got internships. Major B.Tech programs are offered by our college, and the syllabus is up to date. Overall, the course is well-made.
Infrastructure: The hostel mess is good, but not the best. Hostels are not that spacious, but you would get used to them. Overall hostel experience is good.
Faculty: Some faculty teach really well, while some are really bad, and some are okay. Just like any other government college. Still better than most of them. Exams in the odd semester are really a headache. While in even semesters, the schedule is rather more chill. Faculty teaches okay, our timetable is also flexible. The college curriculum is good and up-to-date with the current market needs.
Other: Campus life is really good, the nature here is really good with most of the importance things near the hostels. Not just for boys but for girls too.

Infrastructure: The hostel mess is good, but not the best. Hostels are not that spacious, but you would get used to them. Overall hostel experience is good.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and hold PhDs from various well-reputed institutes. They have years of teaching experience and teach well. Exams are made moderate to slightly tough, but with preparation, they are easy to ace. Overall, the exam system is well-made. Faculty teach well, and our timetable is also flexible. The college curriculum is good and up-to-date with the current market needs.

Facilities and placements are really good.
Placements: In our course, we have 120 students. I am in 1st year. In our IT branch this year, around 85 percent of students are placed. The highest package offered is 61 LPA to a girl, and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Atlassian, Oracle, Amazon, Google. In our institute, internship is a must for every student in 3rd year, so all the students have to do it. The top role offered is software developer.
Infrastructure: We have all the facilities, and infra is also good. They are building more also. Wi-Fi speed is nice. Hostel provides us Wi-Fi with decent speed. NITJ Wi-Fi is working all the time. LAN connection is also consistent. We get 15GB of internet every day to spend. The library is really nice. Classroom is good, more than average. Hostels are average. Mess food is average also. We have a hospital inside campus, where we get free medicine. Gym is nice. We have all quality and facilities of sports inside hostel and outside also.
Faculty: Teachers are nice, helpful, and qualified. But 75 percent attendance is a must! The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are not much difficult, if we study 1 week before exams, we get 8 CGPA easily. To pass the end-semester exam, we should score more than 15 marks out of 50, and in total 40/100 is minimum.
Other: Our college hosts many fests, some of them being Utkansh and Bharat Dhavani. Every year, we have inter-NIT events in our college. I recommend this course to everybody.
