Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh admissions 2025 are open. A few more updates are as follows:
- The INI CET July 2026 session exam date has been announced for admission to the MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh courses. The exam will be conducted on May 16, 2026.
- The NEET MDS 2026 exam date has been set as May 2, 2026 (tentatively) for admission to the MDS course. The registrations for the same are expected to start soon.

As per resources and information availaible, the initial entrance exam which is accepted by PGIMER Chandigarh for admission is INI CET. There may be a chance that NEET-PG is also conisdered for admission but INI CET is the considered for admission to majority of the courses. PGIMER has not released the 2023 placement details yet. However, the NIRF report 2023 is out. According to the report, 40 PG (2-year) and 165 PG (3-year) students were placed during PGIMER Chandigarh placements 2022. Further, the median package offered to PG (2-year) and PG (3-year) students during 2022 placements was INR 8 LPA and INR 17 LPA, respectively.
The application fee for all the courses is INR 1,000 for the general category and for the SC/ST candidates it is Rs 800 (except for MD/MCh which is Rs 1000 for all the categories). Well, to get a decent government medical college, your NEET marks should be above 600 if you are a General candidate.
You can get colleges even if your mark is around 580 or so, but you can't expect your college campus and facilities to be top notch.

Yes admissions are merit-based, but the merit is defined by the entrance test performance (INI-CET) rather than college grades or aggregate marks alone.
You must qualify and rank well in INI-CET to be competitive for PGIMER seats.

No, if you have participated in the PGIMER nursing Round 1 counselling, you will not be able to participate in round-2 counselling. Only those candidates will be able to carry forward the counselling process who did not wish to accept the seat offered in round-1.
