Our college is not situated close to the industrial area, so very few companies show their interest, and they select students with very low packages.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Overall positive experience with quality teaching, modern infrastructure, and career opportunities.
Placements: The placement scenario of our course has been quite satisfactory, with a good percentage of students securing jobs in reputed companies. Around 70-75% of students from my batch were placed, while the remaining students either opted for higher studies or prepared for competitive exams. The highest package offered went up to 12 LPA, while the lowest was around 3 LPA, and the average package stayed in the range of 4.5-5 LPA, which is quite decent for fresh graduates. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and a few core companies.
Infrastructure: Hostels are clean and properly maintained with adequate facilities like study rooms, hot water supply, and laundry. The mess food is decent, though repetitive at times, but hygiene is maintained. The canteen provides affordable snacks and meals. Medical facilities are available with a tie-up to the nearby hospital for emergencies. Sports and recreational facilities, like a playground, indoor games, and gym, are accessible to students.
Faculty: The faculty members are qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They are always ready to clear doubts and guide students. Most teachers use both theoretical and practical approaches, making the classes more engaging. The course curriculum is relevant and updated as per industry standards, with skill development sessions and workshops that make students industry-ready. Guest lectures and seminars by professionals are also conducted regularly.

It is a good college for someone who has thought of destroying his life.
Placements: Only 5-6% of students got placements. The highest package is not above 4 LPA to 5 LPA. It is very rare to find a good package. If students have talent, then only they can get a good package on their own. College doesn't help in any placement or any job. Everything here should be done by students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good and has very big campus with hostel. Food quality is average. It is far from the main market but everything is easily accessible. There are different blocks for every branch. You can go to the market in rickshaw anytime and can use bus timely.
Faculty: It is good but it's too hectic. Teachers and faculty fully pressure students. There's a detain system if 75% have no attendance, you will be detained and fee for that is Rs 3,500. Supply fee is Rs 6,00 so if you are taking admission here be fully prepared for exams.
Other: Teachers are very qualified and are supportive, except for some teachers. There are fests, annual functions, etc.

Review of Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College.
Placements: The college provides many placement options for students in the private sector. Many companies come for campus placement and provide packages ranging from 3-10 LPA based on our skills. They also hire for paid internships based on the entrance exam and interview. Roles offered are electronic engineering, embedded engineering, etc.
Infrastructure: Each department has its own block consisting of Wi-Fi and labs. The college has common areas like a library, gym, and a sports ground. The canteen provides 3 time meals for students at fair price. The college has one block named lecture hall where all the classes are taken by all departments.
Faculty: Teachers are all helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. They are good at their teaching work. The course provides two training programs of 1 and 4 months, which is very helpful in industrial exposure. The college has two mid-term exams per semester and a final semester exam.
Other: I have a great interest in engineering so I chose it. My college is government so it is very affordable. Events, fests, sports tournaments, and dance competitions are organised. All important days are celebrated. As per the government, the college provides many scholarship opportunities for students.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028

It has absolutely good faculty members, a low placement rate, and good infrastructure, and facilitie
Placements: Mechanical students get the maximum placements as the placement officer is from this branch. The average package is 5 LPA. Students with above 7 CGPA are offered placements in top recruiting companies like Sonalika, HCL, etc. Other branches also got placements but few companies visit the college for them. Most students get internships at DRDO and similar organisations.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of the college are very good. It has a beautiful campus. The whole campus is cameraless and Wi-Fi is also available. There are different blocks and buildings for each trade. The hostel is only available for 1st year and the mess food is good. There is a basketball, badminton court, and cricket net on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and have a very deep understanding of their subjects. There are many students who have CGPA above 9 which shows the teaching quality. The electrical department has a shortage of faculty members, but that does not cause any difficulty in the learning process. The pass percent is low in 1st year, but from 2nd year, it increases.
Other: I chose this course because I got it. The best thing about this course is that it makes me happy. Events and fests are held in odd semesters every year and students enjoy that. There are about 1200 students in the college. Scholarships are also available for deserving students. Extracurricular activities are also held regularly.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - Batch of 2027

Not much satisfied because of placement opportunities.
Placements: The college intake is 40 students for our course. Out of these, only the Covid-19 batch 2021 has fewer students, while the rest have approximately the full intake. All seats are filled, and only 6-7% of students get internships. Internships are mainly offered to B.Tech students. SDO and JE are the highest roles.
Infrastructure: The campus is provided with approximately every basic facility, such as drinking water coolers, Wi-Fi, labs, workshops, etc. The quality of food in the hostel is very poor. But the infrastructure is good and includes water coolers. The hostel has one large playground, a common area, and a mess area.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and all are well-qualified Ph.Ds. Their teaching skills are excellent, and they provide guidance and attention to every student. Teachers in our course focus more on practical knowledge than bookish concepts. The level of exams is moderate to high. The pass percentage is about 90-95%.
Other: I have a great interest in designing, so I chose architecture. The best thing about the course is bringing someone's dream to reality. I believe more site visits and practical knowledge should be provided. There are many events taking place in our college, and each branch has its own committee and events.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2024

Spent meaningful days in RGGEC (2020-2024).
Placements: I joined the course with approximately 65 total students. The highest offer during placement is approximately 3.5 lakh with minimal companies offering placements. Companies offer internship opportunities, but the students are not paid for them. The college is not good for placement. Placement depends upon Himachal Pradesh Technical University. If they allow for it, the companies may offer placements.
Infrastructure: When it comes to infrastructure, it is very good as the whole building is newly built. All facilities like the library, canteen, playground, and labs are well-furnished with all equipment. There are also hostel facilities for both boys and girls, but with less capacity for only 1st and 2nd-year students. The canteen facility is inside the campus, and the food stuff there tastes good.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful in studies. The curriculum is well-designed and makes the students up-to-date and ready for the industry. Semester exams are conducted by HPTU Hamirpur, and exams are moderately tough. It is neither so easy nor so tough. The average pass percentage there is approximately 70-80 percent every semester.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in engineering. According to my experience, the best thing about the course is the time when I went to the industry for the internship. It makes you aware and educated about all the equipment used in the electrical engineering field and converts all theoretical knowledge into the real world. We celebrate the annual fest named TAKSHILA every year, and we have a lot of options to participate in different activities like dance, singing, acting, etc. There is a scholarship option available for the students of ST, SC, OBC, and EWS, which is offered by NSP.
