    On Comparisons
Q:   Is MSRIT Tier 1 College?
    A:

Yes, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) is popularly regarded as a Tier 1 engineering college in India, especially within the southern and Karnataka context.

MSRIT holds an A+ grade from NAAC, and all its engineering programmes are accredited by the NBA. The institute offers 18 UG and 15 PG courses, affiliated with VTU, spanning branches like Aerospace Engineering, CSE, and AI & Data Science.

On the placement front, the numbers speak for themselves. As per 2026 data, students received a total of 1,892 offers from 358 companies, with the highest package touching INR 50 LPA and the average coming in at INR 7.66 LPA. Year after year, these figures point to strong, consistent recruiter interest in the institute's graduates.

Getting into MSRIT isn't easy either. The 2026 COMEDK cutoff (Round 3) ranged between 1,152 and 22,730, with CSE remaining the toughest branch to crack. This kind of selectivity is exactly what keeps the quality of incoming students consistently high year after year.

On the rankings front, MSRIT held its ground too. As per NIRF 2025, it was ranked 31st in Architecture & Planning and 75th in Engineering, a solid position considering the institute is up against thousands of others across the country.

What really stands out, though, is the research side of things. The institute has secured funding and collaborated with some big names, including IBM, DST, DRDO, UGC, Apple, Boeing, BRNS, and DBT, a level of research engagement you don't typically see at lower-tier colleges.

As for fees, BE/B.Tech programmes range from INR 2.6 Lacs to INR 13.3 lakh. The institute also supports students financially through scholarships like the Post Matric Scholarship, Defence Scholarship, and fee reimbursements for SC/ST candidates, backed by the Karnataka government.

Put it all together, strong accreditation, tough cutoffs, solid placements, and real industry-research ties, and it's easy to see why MSRIT is counted among India's Tier 1 engineering institutes. Of course, "Tier 1" was never an official label to begin with. It's simply a reputation the institute has built through years of consistent performance.

Q:   What is the Ramaiah Institute of Technology NIRF Ranking 2024 for BE?
    A:

The BE course of Ramaiah Institute of Technology has been ranked by the prestigious NIRF under its Engineering category. In 2024, the institute was ranked at #75 position, making it the second-best NIRF-ranked institute in Bangalore. The MSRIT BE NIRF ranking trend over the past three years have been tabulated below:

Other: I have done my M.Tech in industrial engineering from this college. Mine was the second batch of industrial engineering in Karnataka, The teaching was actually good; all our teachers were PhD holders. However, there were no placements for this branch. Overall, for all the circuit branches it was excellent and the other non-circuit branches were fine. At least, there were companies coming in. However, for this branch, there was nothing. In fact, two companies were supposed to come, but did not turn up.

I am satisfied with teachers, placements, and infrastructure. It is great for shaping our future.
Placements: About 90% of students from our batch get placed. The package offered ranges from 3-14 LPA. I do not really know other things. The highest package offered ranges between 10-13 LPA. I am not sure about the average and the lowest packages or the companies involved. Overall, the placement rate is pretty good in our course.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are neat and clean. Wi-Fi works well throughout the campus. Hostels are also well-maintained with good cleanliness. All the necessary facilities are provided, making it a comfortable experience for students overall. It has one of the best facilities they can offer.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and qualified. They have good knowledge of the subjects they teach. The teaching quality is quite good. The course curriculum is relevant to current industry needs. It includes both theoretical and practical aspects, which helps students become industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and most students are able to pass with decent preparation.

It is a good college for B. Tech.
Placements: The highest salary package offered by Google was 70 LPA and the lowest salary package was 4.5 LPA. The recruiting companies are Google and Microsoft. All my friends with good percentages in academics got jobs.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of our college were good but Wi-Fi and food were not good. Labs and classrooms were very good. Ragging was done in the hostel.
Faculty: All the teachers in our college were well-qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was good. The course curriculum was relevant. It made students industry ready and helped them to grow. Mid-semester exams were easy but end-semester exams were hard so students have to study hard.
Other: I chose this course because I loved technology and wanted to learn more. Our college should reduce the pressure on students. Our course fee was 10 LPA to 12 LPA.

RVCE remains the top choice for placements, but PES University (Ring Road Campus) has overtaken MSRIT and BMSCE in recent years specifically for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) packages and tech hiring. Don't just go by name, check recent placement data too.

Yes, aspirants are allotted seat in MBA based on Karnataka PGCET scores. Such candidates need to participate in KEA Counselling for seat allotment. Students need to provide course and college preference in the counselling form.
