SRM School of Public Health Admission Process 2025

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
On Admissions
Q:   Are admissions at SRM School of Public Health entrance-based or merit-based?
A:

The admission process for SRM School of Public Health depends on the specific programme you're interested in. Here's a breakdown:

Entrance-Based:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH): Requires applicants to take the SRM University Admission Test (SRMUAT). This computer-based test assesses general aptitude, analytical skills, and knowledge relevant to public health. The test is usually held in April and May.
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Public Health: Similar to the MPH program, admission requires taking the SRMUAT.
  • PhD in Public Health: Applicants need to qualify in either the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET), the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), or the SRM University Research Entrance Test (SRMURET).
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Administration: Applicants must take the SRM Aptitude Test (SRMAT), a computer-based test assessing general aptitude, analytical skills, and business knowledge.

Merit-Based:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Public Health: Admission is based on merit in the qualifying examination (10+2), followed by an interview.

Additional Factors:

  • All programs: Besides entrance exams or merit, shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview to assess their communication skills, motivation, and suitability for the program.
  • Work experience: While not mandatory, relevant work experience can strengthen your application.
Q:   Can I join SRM School of Public Health directly?
A:

Bypassing the usual application gauntlet and directly joining SRM's School of Public Health is alluring, but navigating this path requires careful consideration. While direct admission might exist for specific programs and campuses, the standard route remains through the merit-based selection process. This involves showcasing your academic prowess through your 12th class marks (for B.Sc.) or entrance exams (for postgraduate programs), followed by an interview. Management quota seats might offer a shortcut, but they often come with higher fees and limited availability. Remember, the admissions department is your best guide through this maze. Contact them for the latest information and specific programme details. Ultimately, while a direct entry might be a possibility, focusing on strong academic performance and following the regular application process remains the most secure and recommended path to secure your place in SRM's esteemed School of Public Health.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for B.Sc at SRM School of Public Health?
A:

Good place for student who willing to learn.
Placements: The college placements were managed by the Training & Placement Cell. Companies like Apollo Hospitals, Patanjali, Max Health Care, and Epic Research were among the hiring companies. Internships were also available, with opportunities to work with NGOs and foundations, mostly providing free public health services.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi and a strong internet connection in the computer labs. The library has a vast collection of books by famous authors and plenty of study materials. The hostel offers both AC and non-AC rooms, with strong security. Since the climate here is hot, I prefer the AC room, as I’m used to colder weather. Adjusting to the food was challenging, and I miss the food from my hometown.
Faculty: Professors at our college are great, understanding, and practical in their teaching approach, with a less theoretical focus. However, sometimes there is a language barrier when communicating with other staff members. The semester pattern follows SRM University’s standards, and the exams are tough, often including questions from reference books and some from outside the syllabus.
Other: It can be difficult coming from Assam and staying in the south, especially for girls, but many helpful people guide and support us.

I can suggest the infrastructure of srm ktr campus as one among the best a student can experience. When talking about sph department, I feel it as a most comforting and academic friendly environment.
Faculty: My faculty members were highly qualified and very much knowledgeable and they have a strong foundational sense over their topics of interests. The curriculum here is very much far sighted towards the work related futuristic world awaitening for any student who wish to be competitive and highly productive.

Placements are pretty good.
Placements: I will be placed in 2022 July. There are 2 more months for getting placed for my batch 2019-2023. The highest package for my seniors was 42 LPA. The lowest package was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Google, Infosys, Wipro, and TCS.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure is available for both students as well as lecturers. The hostel facility is somewhat good but also we should think about expenditure. Hostel costs are too high. The hostel also provides a gym facility for boys, we have to pay an extra 5000 for the gym.
Faculty: Teachers are most important in getting marks in exams because by mid-semester marks we can help to build a good CGPA. Teaching quality is good but not very good. In CSE there is a combination of ECE, business languages included. Semester exams are somewhat difficult.
Other: Please join because good infrastructure.
