    B.A. JMC at SRM Kattankulatur.
Placements: Weekly alumni talks help students build connections with people in the industry. Most students graduate and get placed through referral. Packages vary from 3 LPA - 7 LPA again depending on campus placements or referral. Recruiting companies are The Hindu, TOI, and Zoho. Roles offered are journalists, editors, HR, PR, and communication roles.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have projectors, but ventilation can be a problem because there are no air-conditioners in this block. Labs have PCs, cameras, and microphones for recording and inbuilt editing software. Hostel food is good and hygienic, but in time is strict, and that can pose an issue.
Faculty: All professors are graduates in the specialisation they teach. Some parts of the course curriculum are outdated. However, most are relevant and tailored for practical learning. With a course like mass communication you need to think, most questions are subjective and need to have an opinion a reason, and research for the same. However, the pattern of the paper can be painful to sit through and write 5-16 mark questions.
Other: The course allows practical experience in different fields of journalism like media, editing, reporting, broadcast, etc. Mass communication has corporate roles like HR, PR, brand positioning/marketing, etc. The classrooms could be better (air-conditioning). Campus in itself is great, campus life, food street, events, open mics, etc.

Review of School of Science and Humanities, SRM IST, Chennai.
Placements: Aside from routine campus placements, our department has taken 2 main initiatives to boost placements and portfolios. 1. Alumni meets: every month an alumni from our department visits us and gives us a lecture on what they do as well as the state of the current job market. Since journalism and mass communication are courses with such a broad scope, each alumni comes from a different industry, for example, corporate (PR, branding, marketing, etc. ), or media (filming, advertisements, etc.). Publishing (books, firms, etc.). Content (writing, editing, freelance, etc.). 2. Mandatory Internship from Year 1: It is mandatory to get an internship in your first year. The faculty is well connected and will help place you in case you need assistance. In addition to this, the department also gives you extensive and practical projects that can be added to your resume to enhance it.
Infrastructure: The department has a smart class where seminars or interactive classes take place. We also have a hall where movie streaming, conferences and big lectures take place. In addition to this, we also have a lab that is accessible to us at any point in time to work on projects. This lab is equipped with computers and air conditioning with basic software. We also have a visual studio and a lab where you can learn how to film and edit video. These labs are equipped with more advanced software.
Faculty: The department has a small faculty, which is great because it significantly increases the quality of student - teacher relationships, making the classes extremely approachable. The curriculum is well thought out, with 3 types of papers 1. Theory: deals with theory subjects alone, research and material-based. 2. Practical: deals with experiments and practical learning; mostly assignment-based, no theory component; or written examinations. 3. Joint papers: a combination of theory and practical learning.
Other: The best part about this course is that it is an umbrella course; it covers a broad range of fields, thus exponentially increasing exposure. 1. Journalism: content writing, media law and ethics, news paper writing, etc. 2. Corporate: public relations, marketing, branding, advertising, etc. 3. Social Media: management, analysis, creative branding, etc.

    Good things need to explore.
Placements: 50% of the students were selected for an internship and the other 50% choose to go for higher studies. Because we studied English literature so need to go for PG after UG. We can explore ourselves from the source of language. Poem, stories, history, many things are there in the English literature. I can sure that you all will enjoy the taste of literature.
Infrastructure: My department was in University Building only. Now only it is moved to FSH. All the facilities are good only no negative comments. Centralized library with AC and all are very good. You can learn a lot. You can utilize many things here. Students got many a awards and rewards to representing our university.
Faculty: All are qualified teachers we can learn many good knowledge from our faculty. They are really multitelanted staffs. We need to learn more from them. They are rare gem. We have utilize their knowledge. 40% is the pass percentage. Some papers are difficult in the semester.
Other: Now I'm doing B.Ed in English . Basically, I love teaching so for that I choose this field and course.

The review of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai - Kattankulathur Campus.
Placements: The college provides a good opportunity for every student. A lot of good companies visiting the college and hiring many students. A lot of students were placed in the multinational companies. Every student wants to use the opportunity for their future from this university. I love this campus.
Infrastructure: This campus is a multidisciplinary campus and has a good infrastructure for every department. There are no words to describe the library and other facilities. The college has a well-constructed building, and the hostel facilities were good. Every hostel is in good condition.
Faculty: The college has experienced faculty members with good knowledge. Their approach with the students is good. They help the students for their future. I love every faculty members and non-working staff. I miss the college. I am planning to join the same college to pursue PG course.
Other: A lot of workshops and events like Aarush and cultural fests like Milan are organised grandly every year. The college also organises departmental workshops and cultural fests for every semester.
