B.A. JMC at SRM Kattankulatur.
Placements: Weekly alumni talks help students build connections with people in the industry. Most students graduate and get placed through referral. Packages vary from 3 LPA - 7 LPA again depending on campus placements or referral. Recruiting companies are The Hindu, TOI, and Zoho. Roles offered are journalists, editors, HR, PR, and communication roles.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have projectors, but ventilation can be a problem because there are no air-conditioners in this block. Labs have PCs, cameras, and microphones for recording and inbuilt editing software. Hostel food is good and hygienic, but in time is strict, and that can pose an issue.
Faculty: All professors are graduates in the specialisation they teach. Some parts of the course curriculum are outdated. However, most are relevant and tailored for practical learning. With a course like mass communication you need to think, most questions are subjective and need to have an opinion a reason, and research for the same. However, the pattern of the paper can be painful to sit through and write 5-16 mark questions.
Other: The course allows practical experience in different fields of journalism like media, editing, reporting, broadcast, etc. Mass communication has corporate roles like HR, PR, brand positioning/marketing, etc. The classrooms could be better (air-conditioning). Campus in itself is great, campus life, food street, events, open mics, etc.

Placements: The college provides a good opportunity for every student. A lot of good companies visiting the college and hiring many students. A lot of students were placed in the multinational companies. Every student wants to use the opportunity for their future from this university. I love this campus.
Infrastructure: This campus is a multidisciplinary campus and has a good infrastructure for every department. There are no words to describe the library and other facilities. The college has a well-constructed building, and the hostel facilities were good. Every hostel is in good condition.
Faculty: The college has experienced faculty members with good knowledge. Their approach with the students is good. They help the students for their future. I love every faculty members and non-working staff. I miss the college. I am planning to join the same college to pursue PG course.
Other: A lot of workshops and events like Aarush and cultural fests like Milan are organised grandly every year. The college also organises departmental workshops and cultural fests for every semester.

Not the best. India has many institutions that have a good name and cannot be compared with each other. If SRM is falling in your criteria of best then it must be opted by you. it has a good brand name. Do some research on the placement and public notion around you.
