Review of Scottish Church College.

Placements: Around 10% of students got placed in our course. The salary package offered for our course ranges between 1.5 LPA - 8 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course were TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, Genpact, etc. Our college had not provided internships. Top roles offered for our course were business development associate, financial services consultant, unit manager, etc.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college and hostel was excellent. High-speed Wi-Fi was available in our college. All libraries were well-maintained. Our college provided a separate library for all departments. Smart classrooms were available in our college. Washrooms were clean and hygienic. The hostel rooms were well-maintained. The warden took special care of all hostel students. Canteen offered healthy food items and occasionally junk food items and took care of proper hygiene. The food served in the canteen was at affordable prices.

Faculty: Teachers were well-qualified, knowledgeable, and quite helpful. They guided each student on an individual basis. Their teaching quality was excellent. They made lesson plans to present each subject in a best-simplified manner. The questions in semester exams were standard and based on the practical application of theories. The pass percentage of our department in 2022 was 100%.

Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in economics as a subject, and I want to take economics as an optional subject for civil service examinations. Since most of our college days went during the pandemic, we somehow lacked the proper interaction in our classes. Our college conducts an annual Caledonia fest every year, but this could not happen for the last three years due to covid. We have an inter-college departmental fest called Converge, which is a grand success. I am satisfied with this college experience and the knowledge I acquired during my course.

Our college is one of the best colleges of Calcutta University.

Placements: Placements were offered to us, but since it's a bachelor's degree, top roles and salary packages offered weren't highly lucrative. Most students were interested in higher studies.

Infrastructure: Our college had a decent canteen, along with a common room for boys and girls separately. The library had a good collection of books for your undergraduate courses. The economics department had a separate library where teachers used to lend us books for our reading. The eco department had 5-6 computers for practicals, although we never really used them due to the COVID pandemic.

Faculty: Our faculty members were simply too good and they were the best you could get for your undergraduate course. Teachers were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help students understand concepts.

Other: Our teachers helped us organise the Economics Fest, which was being held for the first time in the history of the department.
