One of the best colleges for this course. Best campus crowd I've ever seen.

Placements: 30% students are being placed in different companies. 2.5-3.6 LPA is the average package offered from different private companies. 40% recruiting is done by ICICI, Bandhan, HDFC banks, Amazon etc. Admin, BSE are the usual posts, offered for English (Honours) students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite simple yet good. The classrooms are simple (non AC) but you can decorate your classroom according to your preference after getting permission from the students union. Our college doesn’t have an attached hostel, but there are a lot of PG in that area. Canteen food is not so good. There are some street food stalls around our college. Two major sports events take place.

Faculty: They are the best faculty members one can get as a student. It is totally a theory based subject but it develops you into a smarter version of yourself. Getting good marks in semester exams is quite tough but not impossible.

Other: Best among all.

Good Faculty, a Dismal College Life, and a Questioning Future

Placements: The placement system for almost all colleges under Calcutta University is terrible. It is better advised to look out for internships from your second year and on, and build relevant experience so that you can build your resume and look for jobs yourself.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not the best. The benches in the classroom are not good. Some fans do not operate in the classroom, and that makes it extremely difficult to focus on classes. There aren't even any air conditioners in the main building. Some of the classrooms have microphones fitted but not in use, making it impossible to listen to the teacher while sitting in class.

Faculty: I can't complain about the faculty because it is a mix and match of amazing and well-good professors. Some of the professors teaching the modules really know their course through and through, but that comes with experience as well. The semester exams are set by Calcutta University, and like all the other bachelor's degrees, CU has questions that take aeons to complete, and somehow you still don't get the marks for them.

Candidates who has passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination is eligible to apply provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education /Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. Candidate must have aggregate 50% and English: 45% However, Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST or OBC Community must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate.
