Aspirants with a four-year Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in any discipline with 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ST) can apply. SJMSOM, IIT Bombay only accepts CAT score for admission to its flagship MBA programme. Aspiring candidates must apply for the CAT exam and should aim to score well in it. Candidates who finally got selected after having through all the process will be required to report to the admission cell at SJMSOM for document verification and fee payment.

The two-year SJMSOM MBA course is organised into eight terms. In the first year (first four terms), students acquire knowledge on all the disciplines of management through 23 rigorous courses. All the academic courses require case studies, course projects and research by students, which provide exposure to the latest practices in the industry. Students get an option of doing a one-month winter project at the end of first two terms. The curriculum also includes a summer project at the end of the first year of the programme. 

There are 24 'Core Faculty' for about 220 students which work out to a faculty: student ratio of about 1:10. If we include the visiting faculty, the ratio will be even better. SJMSOM faculty members are highly qualified and are the alumnus of the top institutes in the country.

After the conclusion of the application procedure, candidates are shortlisted based on scores in GATE/ UGC-NET (Lectureship)/ UGC-JRF/ CSIR-NET/ CAT/ GMAT/ GRE. Based on the cutoff marks, candidates with a score equal to or higher than the cutoff are selected. The eligible candidates without a valid score have to appear for an entrance test (which is an Aptitude Test covering four sections – English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation).
