B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2023
4.0
SIT, Tumkur, overall college review.
Placements: I completed my BE in Computer Science and Engineering in the 2023 passing out batch. 95% of the students got placed through campus placement. The highest package was around 33-34 LPA from Intuit and average package was around 9.5-10 LPA, and the lowest was from TCS, 4.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Cisco, Shell, RedBus, Alstom, and TCS.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available. Labs were well-equipped. Classrooms had modern technologies. Libraries had all the required books. Food quality was average. The canteen was also average. Medical was good. Sports and games were below average. Not too much scope.
Faculty: Teachers were quite knowledgeable and qualified, and teaching quality was also average. The curriculum was outdated. Semester exams were hectic one after another. Internals, then tests, then semester-end exams. You won't get much time for extracurricular activities. Some faculty members were very arrogant.

Great campus, outdated curriculum.
Placements: 90% students are placed in the batch 2026, and placements are still going on. The point is that placements are good, but the number of people appearing for placements is also large, around 600. From this, we can say it is luck-based, but as per the college, it brings more companies.
Infrastructure: Worst hostel and only gets good Wi-Fi. Food quality is not good, and no non-veg and strict closing timings. Very strict campus, and we have to walk alot for going out. It is more of a school than a college. But a very large campus, around 60 acres, with greenery and play areas.
Faculty: Very strict attendance and 85%, and the curriculum is outdated, and they still think they are teaching the best course, and force students to learn irrelevant things, and 1st year is completely waste of time. Exams, if you do well in the test (mid sem), then exams are light as all get around 60-70, and one with a high CIE gets good grades.
Other: Like a very well-established old college and is better compared to other colleges out here.

The college is too old for this generation.
Placements: My batch was 2023, and my course is Computer Science and Engineering. In our batch, 10 members got internships, and up to 75 percent of students are placed. The highest package is 35+ LPA, the average is above 10 LPA, and the minimum is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Visa, AMD, and Amazon. As mentioned, 10 members get internships, and the roles offered are Software Engineer and Web Developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. The greenery is the best part of this college. Wi-Fi is quite good, and classrooms are okay. The library is old and looks medium-sized. The hostel facilities are poor. The food is the worst I have seen, the rooms are not good, and the water quality is bad. The canteen seating is okay. Sports programs are conducted well, and there is a big ground, but it has been reduced in size recently.
Faculty: Most teachers are not very helpful. Their teaching skills are not good, but some teachers are well-qualified. The teaching quality is overall poor, and the curriculum is not very relevant. Semester exams are easy, not difficult. The pass percentage is 90 percent, so students can easily pass.
Other: I chose this course because of my COMEDK rank. The best part of my course is that it involves practical work in all subjects. There are two major events, Spandana and Halcyon. The student crowd is medium, and the campus is covered with trees and greenery. Many clubs conduct various activities.

Review of Siddaganga Institute of Technology.
Placements: 90% of the students will be placed, with the highest package being 31 LPA and the average package at 8 LPA. Companies such as Oracle and TCS participate in the placement process. Overall, my college provides good placement opportunities, with a total of 199 companies offering placements last year. However, the highest package decreased from 42 LPA last year to 32 LPA this year.
Infrastructure: The campus is filled with greenery, and the faculty members are very friendly. I've made some great friends here. Each department has its separate block, which is convenient. The hostel menu changes every week, but the food quality and maintenance are below average; many students skip breakfast in the hostel due to this. Cleanliness also falls short of expectations, and the rooms are just average.
Faculty: This is one of the top ten colleges in Karnataka, with a NAAC accreditation of A+. The college's NIRF ranking is below 100. The placement opportunities are excellent, and the lectures are interactive and beneficial for the students. The pass percentage is around 40%, and the difficulty level of the semester-end exams is moderate.
Other: I chose to enroll in the computer science & engineering program because it aligns with my interest in coding. The faculty for this course comprises well-trained professors who explain concepts interactively, fostering interest in the subject. Exams are conducted regularly every two months, with each semester lasting six months, and the exam difficulty is moderate.

It has outdated infrastructure and lacks industry exposure.
Placements: In our B.Tech CSE batch 60 to 70 percent students get placed. The lowest package offered is 3.5 LPA and the average ranges between 5 to 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies of our course are Oracle, TCS and other major tech firms. 50 to 60 percent students secure internships in reputed companies. Roles like software developer, data analyst and system engineer are offered to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities in the department are quite old with no significant upgrades in recent years. Hostel facilities are extremely poor. If any issue arises in the room authorities take months to address it and sometimes it remains unresolved. The quality of food in the mess is very bad primarily serving South Indian dishes, which even South Indian students criticise. Medical facilities are available but they are not very advanced. Sports facilities are relatively good, with a basketball court and a large stadium for various games.
Faculty: Teachers at this college are qualified but not very knowledgeable. They mostly teach from PDFs without making extra efforts to explain concepts. They can also be rude at times, even without any fault of the students. The course curriculum is outdated and purely academic-focused, leaving little room for practical learning. Students spend most of their time completing assignments and unnecessary tasks rather than gaining industry-relevant skills. Semester exams are moderately difficult. With hard work, around 60-70% of students manage to pass. However, the lack of modern and practical learning makes it challenging to be industry-ready.

Best in Tumkuru and provides quality education.
Placements: Almost all students were placed in the ISE course. The highest package was about 32 LPA, and the average was 8 LPA. More than 300+ companies visited last year. More than 100 companies visit our campus for paid as well as unpaid internships, and it helps many students as well.
Infrastructure: First-year boys' hostels are okay, but the next 3 years' hostels are good. The food was below average, but the hospital was good. Girls' hostels are outside of the campus, and they provide bus facilities to them. Sports equipment is really nice, and there are 2 gyms and a badminton court inside the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and have the best experience. Semester exams are not really tough, but not easy either. Almost all lecturers are very good, Ph.D. holders, and well-experienced. There are 2 internals in one semester and 2 quizzes. The passing percentage is 40% and above.
Other: ISE is a well-developed course in the last 5 years. I joined because the placement was very good.

The Honest Review About SIT.
Placements: The percentage of students placed this year in my course is almost 95%. The highest package offered is 31 LPA, the lowest package offered is 2 LPA, and the average package offered is 8 LPA. The top recruiting company is Oracle. The percentage of students getting internships is almost 90%. The top roles offered are in the fields of software engineering, full stack development, AI development, frontend, and backend.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by my college are well and good. The library is well-maintained with all the books required for the course. The classrooms are well-maintained, and Wi-Fi works well. The computers in the lab are updated on time. Talking about the hostel, the food is below average, the rooms are not so well-maintained, and the washrooms are poorly maintained, which is very sickening, mainly for girls staying in the hostel.
Faculty: Very few teachers are highly qualified. Teachers stick to the textbook rather than exploring out of the box. The curriculum of this course is enough to help students become industry-ready. The semester-end exams are not so tough if we study the materials and resources provided by the faculty. The pass percentage is around 90%.
Other: I joined the Computer Science and Engineering branch because it is the best course that matches my interest in coding, and the faculty of my course is well-trained. The things I wish would be improved are reducing the sticking to textbook teaching. Regarding events and fests, every year there are only two fests: Spandana and Halcyon. The campus is filled with greenery, and there is a good crowd of people. There are many technical and non-technical clubs, such as technical clubs like IEEE, SIT SB, Decoders, Soaring Eagles, etc., and non-technical clubs such as three theatre clubs, two dance clubs, and one music club.

Good, nothing significant negative aspects.
Placements: My college provides good placement opportunities. The average package per year is 8 Lacs. In the last year, the highest package was 42 LPA, but this year it has reduced to 32 LPA. Total companies offering placements were 199. Many more companies are visiting this year, and one company did mass recruitments for around 150 people.
Infrastructure: The college is full of greenery. Faculty are so friendly. I got very good friends, we have good Wi-Fi facilities, good classrooms, and the library has rich volumes. The food is getting better day by day, medical facilities are good, and we have a health center where staff are available always to treat patients. Sports and games are encouraged, and participation in national and other levels is also encouraged.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The majority of them are Ph.D. holders. Teaching quality is good, but some are not up to the mark. The course curriculum is great, and additionally, they are teaching extra courses too. Semester exams are easier comparatively, but the evaluation criteria and CIE are not hard.
Other: I joined the Computer Science & Engineering branch because it is the best course which matches my interest in coding, and the faculty of my course are well-trained professors who explain the concept in a very interactive way and create interest in the course. The exams will be conducted at a regular time period of 2 months, and the semester will run for 6 months. The exam difficulty level is moderate.
