Please provide placements for the Civil Department.

Placements: In the Civil Department, there are no placement offers in our college. There is no company offers any package in this course. Students do not get internships through the college. The course provides only basic knowledge of civil engineering. The department does not offer any roles to us.

Infrastructure: They don't provide Wi-Fi facility. We don't have sufficient labs in our department. Classrooms do not provide a good environment for studies. The college doesn't provide us with hostel facilities. In three years, we have attended only one football tournament in Kurseong. We don't have a sufficient canteen.

Faculty: In our department, teachers are qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful, but not very much. They only help a few people. They don't make the students ready for industrial work due to lack of instruments and sufficient labs. The exam hall guide is very good and calm. The semester exams are not very hard.

Review of Siliguri Government Polytechnic College.

Placements: The Civil Engineering course is informative, but sadly, there is no recruitment or support. No campus placements or career guidance are provided, which makes it difficult to find opportunities after completing the course. But other courses have good opportunities.

Infrastructure: Our college has a hostel, but it is closed and not maintained. We suffer because we cannot use the hostel. We want the hostel to be opened and cleaned for present and future students. In the future, we hope the hostel will be well maintained. Our college has a Civil Engineering lab, but I haven’t seen it being used.

Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable, but the curriculum is not well-structured, and practical work is not focused. All exams are conducted and cover all the topics. Some departments are well prepared, and some are not. We want practical work to be the focus for future students to gain better knowledge.

Other: The crowd in the college is very low, but campus life is enjoyable with lots of memories. Some facilities and management aspects need improvement for a better experience.

Not useful for civil engineering students.

Placements: Placement opportunities are limited but improving. Mostly small to mid-level construction firms visit for recruitment. College could benefit from a more active training and placement cell, especially for the civil branch. No placement for the civil department.

Infrastructure: The campus is well-maintained with greenery and a peaceful environment. The civil department has good lab facilities like survey lab, concrete lab, soil mechanics lab, etc. Some equipment is old but still functional. Regular maintenance and a few modern upgrades would make practical sessions better. Classrooms are spacious, though digital teaching aids like smart boards are limited. All are useless.

Faculty: Faculty members are generally experienced, supportive, and knowledgeable. Most teachers are very cooperative and guide students well in both theory and practical work. A few faculty members could improve interaction and practical orientation. But overall, teaching standard is decent for a diploma-level institution.

Other: Our civil engineering batch at Siliguri Government Polytechnic will always be remembered as a unique and memorable group. From the very first semester, we grew not just academically. But also as a family supporting each other through classes, practicals, surveys, assignments, and even during tough exam seasons.

One of the best Diploma colleges!

Placements: This is one of the best government Diploma colleges in the north Bengal. Nearly 60% students got placed last year. The highest package provided is 3 LPA. The average package is 2 LPA. The lowest one is LPA. Our college provides internships every year to almost 70% students.

Infrastructure: Our college has well modified infrastructure. Our college provides some awesome fecilitues like, full Wi-Fi connection throughout the campus, there are multiple labs according to topics and all labs are well decorated with morden equipments, classrooms are big and with projectors, big library and a huge play ground. We do NIT have any hostel fecilitues.

Faculty: Our college has collected good teaching faculty. They all are the highest qualified. Most of them are very helpful. They all have good teaching experience. Our course curriculum is well modified to make our students ready for future industries. Our college semester exam level is moderate with pass percentage of 35.
