B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2022
2.8
It has good placements in 2019–20 and average facilities but is suitable for fees.
Placements: College gives very rare opportunities for placements to our batchmates. Only 2 or 3 average companies come into college, and they have only a 1.5 LPA salary package for students after placements. Students can try off-campus drives.
Infrastructure: The mess is average. Only a few items are good, and others are very bad in taste. The canteen is average. Only a few items are available in the canteen. There are good facilities for sports. Classrooms are clean and fresh in nature. The library is good but sometimes has a loose internet connection.
Faculty: It is good while facing semester exams. The pass percentage is 70% to 80%. Semester exams are good because of the 2 or 3 practice exams conducted by the college. They provide a question set for the final exam. So students are not confused while facing an exam and that's why the pass percentage is good.
Other: There are no extracurricular activities other than teaching. Surrounding nature is fine in the rainy and winter seasons, but very bad in the summer. It is easy to reach here.

Not much satisfied with placements, but the course and infrastructure are good.
Placements: The placements are not much good. We have to go for off-campus placements. We need to work on our own for placements. Some faculty members are good and can help us and provide better guidance. But no placement assistance is provided like in other colleges in the same district. One will regret joining here if they are looking for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The campus environment is very good. Wi-Fi is available. Mess facilities are available only in the hostel. The canteen is not in good condition.
Faculty: All the faculty are good. They make students eligible to work for a better future in the industry. The college is not much good for placements.
Other: Overall, it is good for students with less marks in the entrance exams. It provides you with a degree.

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2017
4.0
One of the best engineering college in Nashik.
Placements: From my batch, 8-10 students were placed in different companies. For Mechanical, the highest Package offered - 5 LPA (IT Company) the lowest Package offered - 3.2 LPA (JSW) Top Recruiting companies were: 1) JSW (Jindal Saw Limited Nashik) 2) KSB Pumps Pune 3) Technoforge (visits every year) 4) Technoforce 5) Praz Industries 6) Some IT Companies also visit for hiring mechanical engineers. 7) Other small scale agricultural and pharmeceutical having MOU with SVIT also visit. As such, for our batch, there wasn't any internship provided by college but right now they are providing mandatory internships to Final year students so as to improve their practical exposure to industrial processes and equipments. Top Roles offered were: 1) Graduate Engineer Trainee 2) Production Engineer 3) Junior Design Engineer .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also one of the strength of this college since its location is very peaceful and away from crows with a Mountain View Hostel separately for boys and girls. There is seperate departmental building for mechanical students equipped with all labs (FM, SOM, TOM, DOM, MQC, HT, CAD CAM Labs) required. There is also a seminar hall separately for departmental activities, Presentations, and Guest Lectures for mechanical Students only. The hostel and mess facilities are also very good. It is cleaned and maintained on daily basis. The food served is also of good quality and menu keeps on changing everyday depending on students requirement. The food facilities are free for Staff and students other than hostelite can also have at an affordable cost. There are medical facilities also available for students of hostel 24 X 7. Talking about the sport facilities, college has Indoor Basketball Court with maple wood flooring where almost all regional level competitions take place and students of other reputed colleges come to play. Also, there is football ground, Table tennis court, Badminton court, cricket ground where every year competitions are conducted at departmental level and regional levels in our college itself. This gives students to develop their sports skills along with the academic studies. College promotes and provides immense opportunities to students for their overall development.
Faculty: Definitely the professors teaching here are post graduates and teaching from many years. They are sufficiently qualified and knowledgeable. Specially, for the mechanical students, they need not worry regarding the quality of teaching in SVIT as far as University Level Exams are concerned. But if you are targeting for GATE ESE level Exams, you need to definitely rely on coaching institutes since they are exam specific and it is obviously not possible for any college (except IITs and NITs) to complete each and every subject for competitive exams in such a short period of time. One thing I want to highlight is that the university syllabus is little bit outdated and there is requirement to bridge this gab by continuously providing industry level exposure and training to students by identifying their career goals or targeting the relevant skills or technologies used in top MNCs (Multinational Companies) or OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), thereby, training the students accordingly. This will strengthen their portfolio or resume and make them stand away from crowd in today competitive scenario. One advise I want to give to students is to actively participate in all activities or opportunities offered by your college so as to improve your personality and develop your skills which will make you employable after completing your graduation.
Other: I selected this course as a consequence of my keen interest in Machines and their working along with automotive technologies. This is also very important for you to choose your goal and plan your life after 4 years of graduation before enrolling in these cources since avoiding this may harm your career in different aspects. To improve the effectiveness of this course, I would suggest that students apply the knowledge gained in order to solve real life problems right at this stage of your career afterall this is what engineering is all about. Colleges should make compulsory for students to do at least 2 projects each semester in order to inculcate innovation in them. This will improve their way of dealing with industrial problems well before they get into it. Evey year College level and department level events are organised so as to allow students to improve their skills and showcase them. The college is located away from city and so it is a peaceful place without any pollution providing safe environment to students. As far as connectivity is concerned, it is not of much concern since there are shops inside the college premises providing all daily use stuff. Campus is surrounded by mountains so as to give it a beautiful look. There is Scholarship for different categories such as SC/ST, OBS, etc. For SC/ST categories, the fees was as low as 36000 per year in 2017. Now, it might have increased little bit.

Our college is Good college.
Placements: I am mechanical engineering student. When we have passed our engineering the placement was average but now this year the placement is very good. I heard that there are 80-90 student already placed this year from mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering branch.
Infrastructure: The college is in the very beautiful area of Nashik. The infrastructure is also very good. Even we mechanical engineering students have a separate building for mechanical branch. There are canteen facilities available in the college which is good.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well qualified. The lecture quality is very good. 360 degree of practical knowledge are provided. There are various relevant events held in the college. Teachers are very helpful and good in nature. They don't have the wrong attitude.
Other: The course was very good.

The college does not provide placements and has very poor management.
Placements: I completed my mechanical engineering from Sir Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology. About 50% of students got first class distinction score in their academics, but college does not take any care of them. College does not invite any company for placements. College does not take any action for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is better. It is too old, and no renovation happened there. The college does not provide Wi-Fi facility for students. Canteen facility is poor. There is no medical facility on an urgent basis. There is no management between principal and any other teaching staff members, and I am very disappointed with this.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good. Teachers keep good relation with the students, but top management is not good. HOD have very poor knowledge about his own seat and does not have any quality to become a HOD. He does not take any good decisions for students. Because of this, students do not get proper technical knowledge.
Other: I have completed a diploma in mechanical engineering. So I have chosen this course.

Not satisfied with the college.
Placements: During my seniors batch, the placements were average. The college put efforts at that time. During my batch, no companies visited our college for placements. There is the worst experience. We have to be self-dependent for our placements. The college doesn't own the reputation, why would companies even think about coming.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. Wi-Fi service is seasonal. It is available only during the 1st year admission period. Just to show off, we were provided Wi-Fi service for free. Rest of the year, it is not available. Classrooms are average. The library is good. Medical facilities are not available. Sports equipment is minimal. Many equipments are not working in the labs. Food quality is average.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. If you are seriously interested in studies, they too give their best. There are no complaints about them. They do their job just fine. Some newly recruited teachers are quite strict and ancient. But you get along with them. Teaching quality is average for few teachers, and good for some teachers. The staff are average overall.
Other: There is very cheap level of events. They are same as the old events. There is no creativity. Least engagement is there. The campus beauty is at its best during and after the rainy season. Fest is the cheapest in Nashik. Complete hooliganism is there by the students. Coming to the connectivity from Nashik, the bus frequency is very low. It is quite far from the main Nashik city, which is the main disadvantage of this college.

No Placements: Please find something else.
Placements: There is no such thing as placement in SVIT. The training and placement cell is a joke. Rarely 2 companies visit the campus. Also, those who come have tough criteria. Even the toppers find it difficult to get placed. You need to depend on your personal contacts for placements.
Infrastructure: The campus is huge. The engineering college has 3 buildings. An indoor stadium has been provided, although it is not very well equipped. Canteen facility is there, the food is average. A lot of space is left unutilised. IT lab is not good. No W-Fi connection is provided.
Faculty: A good faculty is something which you should not expect at all from most of the engineering colleges. So is the case here. They are mostly inexperienced. You will be on your own if you are stuck somewhere. However, the library is good, so you can help yourself. Also, they are not helpful with teamwork etc.

Not satisfied with the college.
Placements: During my batch, placements were average. But after no companies visit our college for placements. We have to be self dependent for our placements. Even toppers found difficult to be placed. College does not take any action for placements. College should concentrate on this factor.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Wi-Fi service is poor. It does not provide Wi-Fi facility for students. Canteen facility is poor there is no Medical facility for urgent basis. Library is good. Many sports equipments are broken. Labs are okay.
Faculty: Good faculty of our college. Teachers are not much experienced but they are helpful to all of us. Faculty members are good. Teaching quality is average. The staff are average overall. Many curricular activities are held in our college. But it not make students industry ready.
