MAH MBA CET is a moderate difficulty level exam and if you have fair practice of Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude, then you can crack it with 2-month preparation. A 2-month preparation plan for MAH MBA CET must be centered around important topics and practice sessions. Since MAH CET is conducted in March-April, most of the applicants by that time have already appeared for CAT, XAT, SNAP or CMAT. Prior experience of a national level MBA entrance exam helps in quick preparation of MAH MBA CET.
Those who start preparing for MAH MBA CET exam from the scratch 2-months before, need to focus only on the important topics and practice lessons. They can directly start with practicing previous years’ MAH MBA CET question papers or sample papers to know which topics dominate the exam. They need to work on those topics only. Chart out a MAH MBA CET preparation plan
First of all, make a preparation plan which includes weekly and daily targets. MAH CET 2026 exam pattern and syllabus are similar to other MBA entrance exams, so you are not entering into an unfamiliar zone. Take a look at the MAH MBA CET syllabus 2026 and make a preparation plan according to number of topics to cover w.r.t. days in hand and hours you can dedicate. Most of you must have appeared for a national level MBA entrance exam already, such as CAT 2025, XAT 2026 or CMAT 2026, so you would essentially need some more practice of VA, QA, DI and LR.
Break the MBA CET prep-plan into phases
Divide 60 days into phases. In the first month, focus on covering the syllabus and tying the loose ends from your previous experience of entrance exams. In the second month, focus on practicing mock tests and revision. You may further chart out a weekly plan for each of these month. For example, dedicate one week each to each section of MBA CET 2026. In the second month, divide your study hours into – MAH CET mock test and analysis and topic-wise revision.
Focus more on weak areas
You may not want to lose out on the same topics like in other entrance exams. With MAH CET MBA being conducted in March/April you have two extra months to work on your weak areas. Continue improvising on your strengths
While focusing on weak areas, do not ignore topics which are your strength. Take out an hour every day to revise concepts and solve a few sample questions. Revision is very important to MAH CET as out of 200 questions, about 100 questions are asked from Reasoning. A section, which cannot be mastered with formulas but with practice only.

MAH MBA CET is a moderately difficult exam. It’s difficulty level is lower than CAT but higher than MAT or ATMA. A major factor that makes MAH CET a difficult test to crack is that the questions are presented in random order and sectional weightage vary in every slot. So, candidates cannot anticipate or plan how many and which type of questions to get to their target score.
Also, the MAH MBA CET is dominated by Logical Reasoning questions and there are comparatively less Quantitative Aptitude questions. Since, there is no set pattern, candidates cannot pre-plan. They need to make a strategy and implement it as soon as they see the question paper. So, those who can think on their feet and can crack the exam better than others.
There is no minimum passing marks in MAH MBA CET. Any candidate scoring above 0 in the entrance exam is eligible for MBA CAP. Admission and seat allotment are based on MAH CET cut offs, so higher the score, better the college you get. The lowest cut offs for MAH CET admission is around 50 percentile. If they have a score below that, candidates should not expect to get any college.
It is tough to say that as there is no set pattern of sectional weightage in MAH CET anymore. Since the last two years, the number of questions for each section of the exam, varies for every slot. Meaning that, if in one slot there are 75 questions on LR and 25 AR, in the second slot there can be 60 questions on LR and 40 questions on AR. Similarly, there could be 50 questions on QA in one slot but in the next slot it could be 40. The total number of questions remain 200 in all the slots but the sectional weightage changes. So, one can really not prepare for the exam with the target of scoring maximum in a particular section. They need to prepare for all sections as any section can have maximum questions and the potential to score maximum.
It is possible to prepare for MAH CET in less than 3 months, but it will require a lot of hard work and dedication. If you haven't appeared for MAH CET before or any other entrance exam before, less than 3 months might be less for you, even if you're from Maths background, as quality time is required to cover the syllabus of Logical Reasoning and English. MAH CET is a Reasoning heavy exam. If you wish to prepare for MAH CET in less time, then study for 8-9 hours daily. But at the same time, take breaks in between to avoid burn out.

Yes, students can participate in the CAP rounds even if they do not have Class 12 results. But, if shortlisted they will be given admission provisionally and they will have to submit the Class 12 result card and marksheet for final selection.
