Dr Velraj highlighted the importance of strong expertise in specific domains, coupled with knowledge in related fields and a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies. He stressed the potential for success in the next 2 to 3 decades, recognizing India's status as the nation with the largest youth population globally.

Dr Velraj encouraged graduates to possess trans-disciplinary knowledge, including proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Internet of Things, and to apply these skills in areas like agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development. He underlined the necessity of such expertise in both core engineering studies and other emerging field

Dr Velraj encouraged graduates to possess trans-disciplinary knowledge, including proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Internet of Things, and to apply these skills in areas like agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development. He underlined the necessity of such expertise in both core engineering studies and other emerging fields, which align with the requirements of the corporate sector. The Vice Chancellor cautioned against the environmental consequences of increased consumption in the coming years and emphasized that trans-disciplinary knowledge could offer solutions to societal challenges. He urged youth to develop the right attitude from an early stage, as it plays a crucial role in securing the right jobs and excelling in the corporate sector. In addition to acknowledging the growth opportunities in India, Dr Velraj called on graduates to be responsible contributors to the nation's development. The event saw the awarding of degrees to 610 graduates, with Dr. Velraj presenting medals to rank holders.

Shiksha Invites Admission Counsellors For An Interactive Session on Programmes Offered by SRM University, Valliammai campus

October 28, 2021: Shiksha.com recently invited a team of Admission Counsellors at SRM University, Valliammai campus to participate in a WhatsApp session to speak with various Class 12 pass outs and graduates interested in applying to SRM University’s various programmes.

Students asked counsellors questions about the eligibility requirements, admission process, application deadline, placements, and other opportunities.

While answering all of the students' questions, they talked about various BE/ BTech courses offered at the campus such as Agriculture Engineering, Medical Electronics, Cyber Security and Civil Engineering among others. Students can apply for admissions in two ways i.e., government quota and management quota. The tuition fee for students seeking admission through government quota is Rs 80,000 per year while the tuition fee for students seeking admission through management quota is Rs 1,77,000 per year.

SRM University, Valliammai campus is NAAC A accredited educational institution that focuses on quality learning experience for all students. The institution has a track record of over 90% placements in the last seven years. Renowned corporates and institutions such as Accenture, TCS, IBM, Infosys, Cognizant, L&T, etc repeatedly participate in the placements season every year. In the recent placement session, the institute reported the highest salary package of Rs 12 lakh while the average package stood at Rs 4.5 lakh.

Placements: Our batch saw around 90% placement rate. The highest package offered was 10 LPA, while the average package stood at 4 LPA. Top recruiters included Hitachi, Renault Nissan, and STT GDC. The college offers good placement opportunities with decent faculty support.

Placements: Placements in our 2025 batch have been very positive. Many reputed companies like TCS, Accenture, Wipro, and Cognizant visited our campus. The highest package reached up to 25 LPA, with good average offers around 4-5 LPA. Internship opportunities and diverse roles like software engineer and data analyst also added great value. Overall, placements are improving year by year.
