Honest review of my college.
Placements: The placements are quite okay. Unlike other colleges, in the past, various companies like Google, some BPOs, and many companies came from time to time to recruit students. This puts the college at a high rank, and as a result, the college recruits only qualified students. I could quote quite a number of students who got a job before completing their courses. But I still feel that this could be better so that more students have a future through this institute.
Infrastructure: Hostels are great. It is situated near the college. There are two buildings with separate boys and girls. Some rooms are shared, and some single rooms are also available here. Mess food is also great. It costs a total of around Rs. 8000 per month. PG's are also available around the college, which cost around Rs. 4000 per month.
Faculty: It's a very worthy course, Natural Gases of the Earth. The faculty is great, and they teach us nicely and help us to overcome our doubts. Various practices were done that help us with our further research. I enjoyed a lot. The subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English as electives is perfect. We had two to three exams a year, and questions were set from every nook and corner of the syllabus. One needs to prepare thoroughly for the exams, and we need at least 75 percent attendance.

The college is full of diversity with people coming from different states.
Placements: The placements are quite good here. Placement training is given to students who are qualified for placement. Different companies all over India come and recruit the best ones. They usually offer a huge amount of salary, and many students have already secured placements through this.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are the best. It has a mini football ground, a badminton court, a gym, and a volleyball and basketball court. It also has a table tennis room, foosball, snooker, and carrom board. The hostel seats are limited to around 200+ students. Regarding the mess, it’s not that good to be frank.
Faculty: I like the curriculum activities, such as the surprise tests conducted in the middle of class. Seminars are organized for each individual for career growth. They provide special breaks to prepare for exams. Class size is 60. The course fees is Rs. 56,500 per year.

Computer labs are very highly expensive.
Placements: Integrated MCA students become eligible for placements since the 9th semester. For B.Tech, it's 7th semester. Some of the companies that visited our college are SOTI, UST, Leopard Technologies, and Safran Digit. There are many other companies that we can apply to, but those drives are not conducted at our college, like Expression Technologies and G10X technologies. Our college is the only college in Kerala from which students are hired by Zafran Digit. I have gotten a placement at G10X Technologies Private Limited.
Infrastructure: Triple-sharing rooms with and without AC are available, 12 rooms per floor, providing a study table, an almirah, and all the basic things. Laundry is available and gives clothes after 3 days, house cleaning service has been topped for inside the room, no cleaning in the room until further notice, which is not good at all. Multiple complaints have been made to the concerned authorities, but still, it's been over a month now, and there's been no improvement at all.
Faculty: Course will not give complete real-world applications. Exam's difficulty level is between medium and hard. Timing for theory exam is 3 hours.
Other: Most important part for improvements is student and teacher relationship and the teaching methods. The way of interaction and rapport also has a little improvement.

All the faculty members are experts in their fields and motivate students.
Placements: From 3rd semester, it is the last year that students are eligible for campus placement. In my semester, more than 15 companies were visited, and in my MCA batch, the 7 LPA package is the highest package. Average is 3 LPA. 50% students get placed. After the degree, I am going to get a job.
Infrastructure: In hostel, there is one flat where six students live. One flat has three rooms. Each room has 2 students, they provide one table, one chair, and one almirah. There is a common late batch among six students. There is a separate hostel for juniors. Meal is excluded from hostel, we have to pay for a meal every day. Accommodation charges for hostel are Rs. 65,000 per year.
Faculty: I had passed out BCA and wanted to study further to learn more in-depth. So, I had decided to join the course. Like all other curricula of Indian education system, the course was outdated and failed to deliver the standard required to be job-ready. There were semester exams every 6 months. It was not at all hard if a regular study schedule could be followed.
Other: The areas of improvement could be to avoid long, boring lectures or focus on rating textbook definitions, and rather focus on a real-life-based problem-solving approach development.

It's very affordable even for students who are financially weak.
Placements: From 3rd semester, it was the last year that students were eligible for campus placements. In my semester, more than 15 companies were visited. In my MCA batch, 7 LPA package was the highest. Average package was 3 LPA. 50% of students got placed. After the degree, I am going to get a job.
Infrastructure: Hostel was cheaper than any other colleges, and it had a separate hostel for boys and girls. But the hostel was not too good, it was normal, and it provided normal facilities. Canteen was good. It provided better meals, like homemade food according to routine or a menu. You had to register for the hostel in advance, and then they would allocate the hostel and room. Hostel fee was Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 18,000 for the mess. If you wanted better facilities, then you would choose PG.
Faculty: According to the social aspects, the influence through our college will be so nice, and also the curriculum will be prepared for the real world. The applications further the academic aspects so clearly understand to the students, and also three areas need to be improved. More study hours had been conducted at the college. On Saturday, three exams were also conducted seriously.

Management, I love the way the college manages certain things.
Placements: Placements were good, especially during the recession. You were eligible for placements after the third year. After the second year, you were eligible for Internships. All Big Companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, etc. The highest package offered till now in 2025 is 85LPA at Atlassian. The Average of CSE is 17 to 18 LPA. Almost 53% people get placed in the 2025 recession. The degree has its value. So it gives you an edge while you go off campus.
Infrastructure: There exist certain social welfare clubs such as NCC, NSS, Anthony Youth Club, and many more. These clubs do not stand just for the betterment of the college itself, however, it has impacted the whole town of Shillong. Centers such as hospitals, orphanages, etc. They are being provided with necessities such as food, clothing, and many more. Moreover, things such as blood donation are being done.
Faculty: Faculty to student ratio is approximately 1 on 24, which includes Guest faculty also. There are a lot of people like Prof. Naveen Kumar with over 70 publications. Prof. Anil Kumar expertise in energy technology, Astt. Prof Dhirendra Kumar signal processing, and there are a lot of pros which are legends.
